Chesapeake Regional Medical Center Hospital
MY STAY AT CHESAPEAKE REGIONAL WAS VERY PLEASANT. THE NURSING STAFF, DIETARY STAFF, AND HOUSEKEEPING STAFF WERE ALWAYS RESPECTFUL. THE NURSES ALWAYS LISTENED AND RESPONDED TO ANY ISSUE I HAD. THEY MADE SURE MY PAIN WAS WELL MANAGED AND WAS VERY HOSPITALBE TO MY FAMILY AND FRIENDS. DR. YANCEY AND HIS BARIATRIC TEAM ARE ONE IN A MILLION!
I am assuming poor staffing for the nurss. I ws checked only twice a day. They actually wanted a non nurse designation to remove my catheter! I refused immediately. I never got a hello, how are you, do you need anything, any questions from none of the non nursing staff. My bed was not changed during my stay, when it was clear it should have. I hopeI never have to use that hospital again.
Chesapeake General had excellent patient/staff ratio-attune to my every need both in ICU and on the surgical floor. Quiet, restful facility, excellent care! I didn't like Bayside 16 years ago when I had my VBG there, Sentara Leigh's care was excellent but the hospital and staff were very busy, always a buzz in the halls of people/equipment.
