Our team of weight loss specialists is here to help you every step of the way to provide the highest quality care, from pre-admission and pre-operative screenings to post-operative care, treatment and support. If you're interested in weight loss surgery but aren't sure where to start, click the button below to fill out your information in our questionnaire. Then, our metabolic and bariatric program coordinator will reach out to you to help you decide the next steps. There are many options when it comes to weight loss surgery. Chesapeake Regional Healthcare is accredited by the Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accreditation and Quality Improvement Program, so we are trained on the latest and most effective procedures. Currently we provide the following surgical options: Adjustable Gastric Banding A procedure that uses a silicone band to create a smaller section in the stomach. Digestion and absorption of nutrients remain normal and the band can be adjusted or fully removed. Sleeve Gastrectomy This procedure limits the amount of food a person can eat by reducing the size of the stomach. A portion of the stomach is removed, but digestion and absorption of nutrients remain normal. Roux en Y Gastric Bypass By reducing the stomach size and decreasing food absorption, this procedure helps to create a quicker sense of fullness. To determine which surgical option is best for you, you'll meet with our team of board-certified weight loss surgeons, our metabolic and bariatric coordinator and our dedicated nutritionist and diabetes specialist to ensure you get the personalized care you need in order to achieve the best results to change your life. Weight loss surgery at Chesapeake Regional Healthcare requires no program fee. We accept most major insurance plans and offer one of the lowest self-pay rates in the region through our self- pay program.
