Cabell Huntington Hospital (COE) Hospital
Very professional, intelligent, excellent rapport, very competentrnNornProfessional and competentrnNothingrnHis entire program is based on education/ aftercare.rnIt couldn't be anymore structured.rnExcellent, Outstanding, The BESTrnHe is very surgically competent, and had excellent bedside manner..... But if I had to choice between them... I'd take a surgically competent anyday over bedside manner.
I have only met this doctor twice. He actually does the seminars. This I found interesting. I have had my initial visit with him. He asked any questions about records he had and let me ask any questions I had. Dr. Nease made me feel very comfortable with him. He was easy to speak too. His staff is hard to get a hold of, but they will return your call or email. I feel sometimes that I am a pest, but I am so eager to have this done.
I have only met this doctor twice. He actually does the seminars. This I found interesting. I have had my initial visit with him. He asked any questions about records he had and let me ask any questions I had. He did seem a bit rushed, but then again all doctors are I think.rnrnHis office staff are hard to reach and don't always return phone calls. When they do they are very helpful. rnrnThey have moved from the hospital to other offices since I have began this process and I only found out when I tried to call them and they had left a message on their voice mail. rnrn2/16/09rnrnIt has gotten much easier to get in touch with the staff since the move to their new offices. They have been very patient and helpful.
1. He is experienced, communicates well, approachable, and easy on the eyes.rn2. Only that he expects you to get honest with yourself and him.rn3. The staff is knowledgable, friendly, and well versed. You need to be proactive and able to ask questions. rn4. At that time the program needed more emphasis on the social/pysch. aspect.rn5. Much follow-up in office. Monthly meetings available. Starting classes for extended support with hablits for those several yrs. out.rn6. Follow up includes talking with the dieticiian. You must be proactive with her.rn7. Lays it all out holding back nothing.rn8. I go to Cabell because of my trust in Dr. Nease and his ability to take care of me.rn9. Surgical competence is top grade and bedside manner is good.rnrn
I have had a very good experience with Dr. Neace and his staff. I first saw Dr. Neace during the pre-op orientation and was impressed with his honesty with risks of surgery and his ability to explain the whole process in layman's terms. During my visits, he took the time to answer any questions I had. I feel comfortable with Dr. Neace, because he doesn't make you feel like you are obese because you are lazy and eat too much. He understands there are more complex reasons as to why a person is obese. His office staff is very caring and take the time to talk to you if you have a problem or have questions. They make you feel welcome at support group meetings. So far, I have nothing negative to say. I've had a great experience.
My first impression was that he really cared about overweight issues. The story he tells about his dad shows that he knows how devistating obesity is. I was always happy with the care I recieved from him and his staff. But, I am the kind of person that does not rely on them to tell me what I need to know. I find out or I ask before my appointments. I liked that I could email my questions to his staff. rnHis program was very complete, but a little RNY tilted. rnHis bedside mannor is great. I am needle phobic and he calmed me down for my first fill. He found my port without any problem. I have had no complications so far and I am sure his surgical skill played a part in that. rnCabel Huntington Hospital was a great place to have surgery. I was impressed with smoothness of the process. And comfortable with the facility. rnI am glad I chose Dr Nease and CHH. I had a few choices closer to where I live, but the hour drive is worth the feeling of trust I have in Dr. Nease.
My first impression of Dr. Nease was that he genuinely wanted to help, was not judgemental towards obese people, and was throughly experienced. His staff is open, friendly, helpful. They have first-hand experience and compassion. Pre-surgery education is key to this program but follow-up care, monitoring, and support is not neglected. In the initial info. seminar, as well as in subsequent meetings, the risks and complications possible from surgery were repeatedly explained and I was given multiple opportunities to ask questions. Overall I feel Dr Nease is an excellent surgeon and would recommend him to anyone seeking WLS.
