Baylor University Medical Center at Dallas Hospital

From my pre-op registration until my discharge everything went very well. The Nursing staff was very helpful, except for one little issue: at 5:00pm after my surgery Dr. Arnold had said my urinary catheter could be removed. At 7:00pm, I asked the person taking my vital signs for it to be removed and for some ice chips. At 8:00pm I called the Nurses station to remind them of my request. At 9:00pm, the nurse finally came in to remove the catheter. My mom got my ice. I consider this relatively minor in the overall picture of my care. Everything else was very smooth. My family could not visit in the recovery room and that was a little hard for them. I would recommend Baylor University Hospital for this procedure. I am very happy with my care.

I was in the hospital over the holidays. I was on a floor with cardiac patients, and few staff to go around. They did their best and I must say, I am pleased with their attitudes and hard work. However, much to my dismay, my husband was told to go to my room and wait for me. It had not been cleaned from the patient before me..her charts were still up. The bed was just as she left it. She had been gone for 1 1/2 days prior to my arrival. He reported the mess and the "head person" (nurse?) told him he had to leave the room. She said it had to be fumigated. Needless to say, it was not a comforting experience for either of us.
