my first impression of Dr. Jayaseelan was excellent. He was very informative and asked me questions and took the time to answer any questions i had as well. The office staff is very helpful as well. I had to call several times with questions about my pre op diet, and paperwork for my work release, they handled everything more than excellent. Aftercare seems to be of the most importance, I am a self pay since I do not have health insurance and the fee i paid for surgery includes one year post op to make sure we get the care needed. All the risks of surgery were described to me and I was given comfort knowing he had done surgery on several people I knew from my church and none have had any complications to mention, and very good results. Dr. Jay has a very good bedside manner, he even joked with me right before surgery, with a grin asking how my preop diet was....knowing my answer would be blah blah blah,,yuckie.....I would refer anyone who ask me to him for lapbanding.

Dr. Jayaseelan has been really nice. Although he does so many of these surgeries you definately feel like a number. He does not take much time to discuss issues and such. In and out thank you very much. rnrnHe used to have a wonderful nurse (Arlene) that took the time to discuss things with you and listen to your stories and give advice. She was banded and lost 200 pounds - so she definately understood where you are coming from. Unfortunately she left to go to medical school. He is looking for someone like her in the interim. Meanwhile the rest of his staff is OK. Not as supportive as I would like them to be. I had to go outside his office to get the mental and physical support I needed. rnrnI will say though in his defense that the surgery went off without a hitch and he really knows his stuff as far as being an excellent surgeon. HIGHLY RECOMENDED. I don't necessarily want my surgeon to have the answers to my mental issues - I want him to be the best damn surgeon to have is hands on me in the operating room.rnrnFor my head I found Merlene Phillips - Part of the Psy-med team. She is fantastic and has REALLY helped me. She is not an MD, but is a Nutrition expert and fitness advisor. Without her I don't think that I could be as succesful as I am.

My surgeon really knows his stuff. He is a world renowned surgeon. My impression that he is very knowledgable and concerned for his patients. Most of the office staff are very pleasant to work with as well. It doesn't matter who you call for if that person is busy whomever answers the phone will ask if they can help and if they can't answer your question (which is rare) they will find someone that can. Future patients should know that he is good and he isn't out to just make money he will give you his honest opinion. If he thinks surgery is not a good option then he will certainly tell you. Basically when you go in you talk with his Nurse Practitioner she does all the work up and the Internist does a history and physical on you as well. I did not meet my surgeon until surgery day. My surgeons reputation proceeded him. He is a great surgeon, very competent and has a good bedside manner.

I didn't get to met Dr. Jay until my first fill. Now that I've met him, I agree that he is a nice man. He did my fill quickly & competently with no pain. His nurses also are very nice & competent. I'm glad I chose him but I think he does need to work on meeting each patient at least once before surgery.

Dr. Jayaseeland, or Dr. Jay, as he is fondly called, is at first impression a friendly and kind person. I chose him because he has the preformed the most Lap-Bands of any surgeon I researched.rnrnHis staff are all friendly and patient as well. Dr. Jay's practitioner, Arlene, is my favorite. Everyone took a lot of time to answer all of my questions. The do express how one must fully comply with all pre-op and post-op diets to avoid complications. I am still learning about the after-care, but I am aware that there is after support.rnrnI am scheduled in three days to do the deed, so we will see how it all goes. I can't wait.

Wonderful doctor & staff. Great support & aftercare.

My first impression of Dr. Jay was during my pre-op visit. I felt that he knows what he is doing. I was shocked on how brief a time I spoke with him. I swear it seemed like we spoke five sentences to each other and that was it. He made me feel good in those five sentences. I felt a renewed energy to stay committed because I want to be a succes story like so many other people.

I think Dr. Jay is the best dr. doing Lapband in my area, and yes I've looked around. The staff at the office was helpful and courtious.

I was very comfortable with Dr. Jayaseelan from the start. I would recommend him greatly. Although I havent been to one of his support group meetings yet, I understand they are very helpful and people get to know him better than when he is trying to work his patients through his busy day. He gave me all the information I needed to get through this process without being overly fussy. I liked that.
