Dr. Levi Smucker, Bariatric Surgeon

Levi Smucker, MD, is a highly-skilled general surgeon specializing in minimally invasive and robotic bariatric surgeries at the Goshen Physicians Center for Weight Reduction in Goshen, Indiana. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Music from Goshen College and earned his medical degree at the Indiana University School of Medicine. He completed his surgical residency and internship at Bassett Hospital in New York.

Dr. Smucker is a member of the American Medical Association (AMA), the American College of Surgeons (ACS), the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons (ASCRS), and the Mennonite Healthcare Fellowship (MHS).

Dr. Smucker’s professional experience extends to public health and non-profit clinical environments, spanning both international and Indiana-based settings. Within his clinical research, he has co-authored several peer-reviewed articles in medical journals, including on the important topic of low incisional hernia techniques.

Beyond his dedication to science and healthcare, Dr. Smucker is also a talented composer and cellist.
