January Hill Bariatric Surgeon MD, FACS
I had horrible chest pain that prevented me from eating or drinking without pain. I was told to go to the ER to have it checked out. My heart was fine, so I was admitted for more testing (since it had been only 6 months from my date of surgery-RNY). The on-call Doctor was Dr. Hill. She told me that I was crazy and that I was one of her problem patients (I had been admitted twice for dehydration since surgery). After a few days of very little testing, Dr. Hill told me that she couldn't find anything wrong and said "just suck it up". She finally did an endoscopy and found an ulcer. The day after the endoscopy I had questions about the ulcer. When she came in for rounds that day, I tried to ask her some questions. She rolled her eyes and sighed. I started asking questions and she was very short with me. The only thing that she was able to tell me was that "this is your last chance to come in here for dehydration". "My last chance?" I asked. "Yes, your last chance. If you have to come in again we will have to give you a PICC line and you could die." -- soooo, I chose to get an ulcer which then made it impossible for me to eat or drink for 14 days?! ( I am not 100% innocent in all of this- I had 3 shots of alcohol, which may have led to the ulcer- but in no way did I anticipate that this would all happen). I am disgusted at the lack of professionalism demonstrated by Dr. Hill and as a result, I will never recommend Dr. Graber's office to anyone in the Syracuse area. To have a provider who treats patients as poorly as Dr. Hill treated me in one's practice makes me question the integrity of the entire team.
