Anwar, MD serves as the medical director of the Center for Weight Management at St. Francis in Federal Way, Washington. As a bariatric surgeon, he specializes in single-incision laparoscopic surgery and minimally invasive robotic-assisted weight loss surgery procedures. Dr. Anwar is board-certified in General Surgery and Critical Care Surgery by the American Board of Surgery. Prior to joining The Center for Weight Management at St. Francis Dr. Anwar was a clinical instructor of surgery at the University of California in San Francisco. He also founded the Palo Alto Medical Foundation bariatric surgery program. Dr. Anwar earned his medical degree at Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and completed his residency and fellowship at the University of California Medical Center. He is a member of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS).
