Dr. Andrei was very informative. Any question I came up with he had the answer. I really appreciate that he took the time to answer anything and explain in detail wahat I was taking on. Time was not an issue. My comfort with the surgery was.

I've only met with him the once for the initial consult, however his staff has been wonderful too. I have no complaints at all.

I was very impressed with Dr.Andrei. He was very professional and supportive and answered all of my question throughly. You can tell that he really cares a lot about his patients. His office staff was very helpful and Joanna is GREAT! She explains everything and really helps you out. I think that if you are to choose any doctor for this surgery you make the right choice and choose Dr.Andrei.
Dr.Andrei was fantastic during surgery! After surgery he came in to my room at least 3 times a day during the 4 days that I was there! He is very encouraging and pushes you so that you are up and better in no time! He is a EXCELLENT and I would rec him to eveyone !

I have attended several monthly support meetings. I immediately felt a connection with Dr. Andrei. His expertise and concern for patients drew me to him. On my first meeting I was not disappointed, I have the upmost respect and confidence in him. The office staff I met was courteous, and friendly. The down side was the lenght of time I had to wait to actually see Dr.
I am currently being screened by a cardiologist and pulmonary doctor due to my health history. All in all everyone has made me 100% confident in my doctor and the precaution on his part and for my life.
I like and trust him. Future patients keep his name on the top of your list, he is like meeting with a family member, even better. He tells you the good news and the bad news, no suprises. Lisa, the nutritionist goes over in detail what to expect, how to adjust and live. Doctor did explain this is a tool to be used not abused. You can achieve success with this tool. Now I know why mecanics have "tools of their trade".
This is my mission to have a healthy body, WLS is my tool to acheive. For me, Surgical competence is Best, bedside manner is a perk, God Bless Dr. Andrei.

Dr. Andrei (New Brunswick, NJ)works with Dr.
Brolin. He does the laparoscopic procedure.
He is caring and compassionate, yet frank about the realities of WLS.

Dr. Andrei was wonderful! He really took his time explaining every detail of the surgery. Now I understand why the wait is long while at his office. He never made me feel rushed in any way.

I was having trouble getting my insurance to pay for the entire surgery because Dr. Andrei doesn't accept Blue Cross Blue Shield. But he and his staff have really worked with me to make sure that this surgery can happen for me.

He really is a sweetheart.

DR. ANDREI WAS VERY POLITE AND THOROUGH. I HAD SENT HIM A LETTER AFTER MY CONSULTATION AND HE CALLED ME QUICKLY AND PERSONALLY TO ADDRESS THE ISSUE. I AM DUE FOR SURGERY IN MAY AND STILL WAITING FOR AN ACCOMODATING DATE. DR. ANDREI ADDRESSED THE RISKS AND HOW THEY COULD BE ADDRESSED AND THOUGHT I WOULD BE IDEAL FOR THE LAP PROCEDURE. HOEPFULLY I WILL HEAR FROM HIM OR HIS OFFICE STAFF SOON.

I met with Dr. Andrei after first meeting with Dr. Robert Brolin. He seems to be very thorough. He made sure I had a pulmonology clearance (sleep apnea) and a cardiology clearance (hypertension). He asked for copies of tests I had (heart catherization, echocardiogram, blood work) for the last couple of years. The staff support has been great. Joanna helped me through all the paperwork and authorizations, PAT dates, etc. Now, Pat (RN) has reviewed my meds and medical history again. She will be there with me after my surgery. Nice to know I'll have a friendly, familiar face to see when I wake up! They have given my booklets to read about the surgery and have welcomed questions along the way. I'm accustomed to hearing the risks associated with any type of surgery so that talk went well. The doctors and the entire staff seem to have done this process so many times that they have it down to a routine. The office always seems crowded and hectic so the practice must be very popular. I'm driving an hour away because my primary doctor says these guys are the best and I trust and value his opinion. I have never waited more than 10 minutes to see the doctor or a member of his staff which is quite unusual considering the number of patients. I never seem hurried or rushed about either. I don't need a lot of hand-holding because I have been through so many surgeries already, so I appreciate their thorough, direct approach. In addition, I know 2 people who have had the surgery quite well. Also, I had done my own research and was well-prepared with questions and concerns. I suspect if you don't have research and require a lot of attention (hand-holding), this may not be the practice for you due to the volume of patients. But so far, my experience has been what I expected.Update: (2/21/01)...No surgery!! Found out that Dr. Andrei's staff is not the staff I had been providing my updated insurance to since January, 2001. So, 3 o'clock, the day before my scheduled surgery, I find out that the information which I had given the clincian's office was not passed to Dr. Andrei's staff (didn't know there was a difference)and lo and behold: no one can find my updated insurance information. Surgery cancelled. Has not been rescheduled. Moral of the story: find out the hierarchy of your surgeon's office vs. his clinical office. I learned the hard way. One does not communicate with the other.UPDATE: Still no date, depressed.

Dr Andrei is a very caring and thorough doctor. He has such excellent bedside manners too. I am glad he is my surgeon - he studied under the best in the field and it shows. I had my original date of 1.19 cancelled due to a bad chest cold minutes before i entered the or and he just held my hand and tried to comfort me. i thought that was nice but at the time i wanted the surgery. But after consideration, he made the best choice for me. I am very confident with Dr andrei and his staff.
