His staff was my first impression. They were simply lovely people.

Dr. Andrei was a kind man, willing to discuss questions I had (which were not ordinary ones lol) and was willing to take all the time I needed. I think the poor man has no life LOL He's so involved w/his patients.

I just got a date so I'm verypleased. They bent over backwards to accomodate me becuase my husband is being relocated to PA and Iwas concerned about postoperative care and moving at the same time.

Out of 10 I would rate this office,at this time a 10. (being the highest)

I have met w/ both Dr. Andre of St. Peters in NJ and Dr. Inabnet of NYU. I found them both to be pleasent, direct and informative. I think I would be comfortable having either on do my surgery. Both assured me that I was an excellent candidate for either the by-pass or the lap-band, but both seemed to be more comfortable with the by-pass. I am really looking for someone who prefers the lap-band to talk to so I cam make an informed unbiased decision.

1/21/02: I have decided to have the by-pass procedure done, because of the beter track record of this procedure. I have decided on Dr. Andre mostly because his NJ office and hospital is much more convient than NYC. Actually, he is no longer at St. Peters, but has moved to Robert Wood Johnson, also in New Brunswick. I believe that I will be having the operation in the begining of March.

4/16/02: Iam extemely frustrated today because my appeal for insurance coverage was rejected. The reason I'm posting on this page, is that I found the response by Dr. Andre's office appalling. When I asked for assistance in fighting this rejection I was told that she was very busy today, and would TRY to locate my file tommorrow. She asked what I intended to do, and when I told her that I intended to fight the rejection she chuckled and said that I was a "scream". I am desperate for this surgery, and certainly do not find my decision to persist something to laugh at. I am extremely dissapointed by the insensitivity of this staff person.

5/3/02: Dr. Andre did apoligize for the seeming insensitivity of his staff person. He said that she was trying to calm me down by being a little light hearted. Whatever. He still seems very committed and concerned and I guess that's what matters. He definetly is trying to help me with my appeal.

1/03: I finally had my surgery on 1/3/03. Dr. Andre did a great job, and I did not have any problems.

6/30/03: Six months post-op. Dr. Andre's staff has been wonderful. Each time I've called with a question or concern they have responded knowledgeably. Seeing his nutritionest is an important part of his program, and I feel it has really helped. I am down 83 lbs.

I saw Dr. Andrei at a support meeting. I was impressed. I spoke to his staff many times already. They are all so wonderful. Very supportive. My appointment is July 30. I pray I am approved. The time I spent with Dr. Andrei made me feel at ease. He has a way about him; a calming effect, if you will. Since he had his own personal medical circumstances, my surgery was postponed. I heard many people being angry about this - what I can say is that he is not God. He is a human being with a God-given talent to help...cure...save people. I wish him good health so he can continue to save people's lives.

Dr. Andrei is GREAT!!! He is a sweet and caring doctor...I just wish he moved to Florida with me. Finding a doctor to do follow-up visits and report back to Dr. Andrei has been a pain. But if I have any problems I just call Dr. Andrei and he calls me. His office staff was always nice and helpful. I have no regrets about having the surgery and would do it again if Dr. Andrei said it had to be done over. It was the best thing I ever did.
THANK YOU Dr. Andrei, you gave me a new life.

Dr. Andrei was very thorough and likeable. He was also very professional. His office staff was very nice and courteous but very busy. The only thing is that when you go for an appointment you must wait hours. That was a little annoying but worth it having heart all the stories of other's surgeries. My surgery date is August 22, 2001 and I can't wait.

Dr. Andrei was the only one who sincerely cared and has been consistent. I have been having a few problems and because Dr. Andrei was the only one who believed my symptoms and took the necessary precautions--strictures were found. It can happen again too. However, when I left messages for Pat, my symptoms were blown aside--I do not think Dr. Andrei was told until I called again vomiting blood. The second time this happened I left a message to no avail. I called again and the nurse would not even get on the phone. The next call was vomiting blood. Also, it seemed Dr. Mehta predicted wrong both times.

Dr. A is a wonderful, compassionate, caring man. He's awfully cute, too...LOL

In all seriousness, I don't think I could have chosen a better surgeon. I had an easy ride, but a year after my surgery, my mom had it done by Dr. A and it did not go as smoothly. He was there for both of us and got her through it. I stand behind him as a surgeon 100% and would recommend him to anyone. Dealing with the office isn't always a grand affair, but he is changing hospitals and will he the head of bariatric surgery at Robert Wood Johnson Hospital. Hopefully the staff will get more help and won't be so overwhelmed.

I have watched him care for his patients and other doctor's patients as if they were his own. I can say nothing bad about him.

When I first met him I had a good feeling about his expertise in this field, he was very informative and explained the procedure and open to questions. His bedside manner is good, he doesn't just get you in and out as fast as he can. His office staff is informative and excellent dealing with the insurance companies. Great emphasis is given to patients for aftercare, there is also a support group for patients, pre and post op. He addressed the risks of surgery up front and was very honest with me. I rate him highly overall, I would refer him to someone else, I really like him. I think his bedside manner and surgical competence are great.

Dr. Andrei is a wonderful man and a gift. His care and knowlege is what has allowed him to become Director at Robert Wood Johnson
Hospital.Dr. Andrei and his staff or new to Robert Wood, so be understanding.

Dr. Andrei stress everything, the need to drink water and not eating the wrong foods, he provides a list of other patients that are willing to help you.

The risks of the surgery is something that you may not want to hear but he tells you.

I was in pain and his team was there.

I say that my overall for Dr. "A" is an "A+++"

The only down side I can see is that by him being so good and does do hospital rounds and call you at home, people are going to have to wait for a date. But he is worth the wait because when you are in his care you come first.

My surgeon is going to be:
Dr. V. Andrei He is a new associate of Dr. Robert Brolin. Dr. Andrei does Lap WLS & Dr. Brolin does open WLS. Dr. Andrei is so nice. I really liked his approach. He is patient and gave me a very complete explaination of the surgery. He shares office staff with Dr. Brolin. They are very nice, a little overwhelmed right now as they just moved into a new hospital, but I'm sure they will get it together after hiring a few more staff.
5/7/02 - Well I thought its about time for an update....Dr. Andrei did indeed do my surgery on 12/15/99. It was a terrific success and I still love Dr. A !!! As of January 1 2002 Dr. Andrei moved from St. Peter's University Hospital to Robert Wood Johnson Medical Center. He is the Director of Bariatric Laparoscopic Surgery. His before and after careprogram is now superb ...I was rather disappointed in the after care in the beginning but that was before he moved to Robert Wood Johnson. Now the program is dramatically improved. The staff is competent and caring and they stress education. We have support group meetings every first thurdsay of the month. these meeting are packed with information for pre and post ops, as well as support from patients. Dr Andrei is one of the most dedicated doctors I have ever met (and I know a lot of them because I am a nurse). I recommend him to anyone looking for a terrific surgeon. His surgical competence and his bedside manner are equally wonderful !! and I don't receive any compensation for my glowing review..haha !!
If you go with him you won't be sorry !!!
