After my mom and i attended one of dr.g's siminars i was very impressed. He was so knowledgeable and really took his time explaining all the facts about wls, even my mom became interested. I went to my consultation about a week later. Dean and the entire staff was excellent. As of now my surgery is set for feb.12th. Hopefully i'll get an approval soon so that my surgery can be moved up. I'm so ready to join my sister in losing weight and hopfully losing some of the meds. that i'm currently on. I will keep you posted.
I first met Dr. Gritsus at one of his seminars. He was very professional and kind and was able to answer all of my questions. As I began to pursue my surgical options with him, my impression of him only continued to get better. His office staff are all very pleasant and motivating, and they handled my insurance company as well. I had attended several seminars and even though Dr. Gritsus is out of my healthcare network I still chose to go with him because I was comfortable with him and his staff and I believe he provides his patients with the highest level of care and compassion. His aftercare program is concise and includes monthly and weekly support groups, as well as monthly visits to track your progress. my surgery went smoothly with no complications and I healed very quickly. Overall I would say his services are among the best. I would recommend Dr. Gritsus to anyone who has had or is considering WLS.
I first met Dr. Gritsus at his seminar for weight loss surgery. His presentation was very informative and offered a lot of very honest opinions. rnrnThe office staff is friendly and helpful. (they handled my insurance company and i didnt have to do anything!) I do wish that the office would have contacted me a little bit more through out the process so that i didnt have to wonder and worry if all was going well.rnrnI would rate my experience as "good". I have no complaints. My surgery was successful and my recovery has been easy. The whole process did not seem as complicated as other stories.rnrnI would recommend Dr. Gritsus to any of my friends who might be considering this type of weight loss surgery. (a friend referred me to him...)rnrn
My first impression of Dr. Gritsus was that he definatly knew what he was talking about. I had reserched WLS for 3 years and saw 8 dr's befor him and 2 after but his personality and the way he spoke made me choose him.
His office staff is awesome. Kathy and all the girls worked hard to get my paperwork done. And the man I dubed Dr. Dean (the assistant) is a great guy to. Dr. Gritsus and Dr. Dean were and still are very kind and wonderful to my 11 year old daughter.
The empathy that Dr. Gritsus showed me after my surgery was wonderful. I had a problem where my kidney's shut down and what was supposed to be a 2 day hospital stay turned into a 5 day stay and i was not happy but Dr Gritsus was there everyday to check on me and although i wasn't very nice to him because i wanted to go home, he was still caring and very helpful.
I would recoment him to anyone. The most apprehensive person would feel comfortable with him.
i believe that his surgical competence and bedside manner are wonderful. i was very worried about waking up with a breathing tube in my throat. but Dr. Gritsus reassured me and kept addressing the issue untill i was as comfortable as i was going to get. dr gritsus, dr. dean and the whole staff of advanced surgical solutions are great people.
Dr. Gritsus is the best!! He is very understanding, and very patient with all the questions. I highly recommend him to anyone in this area considering WLS. His staff and assistant Dean, are the best bunch of people. Everyone is so helpful. Dean and Dr. Gritsus made me feel very calm on the day of surgery. I've had no complications at all, and I can't thank him enough for giving me back my life!
First impression, at seminar Oct'04, was that he is very genuine, willing to focus on aftercare as much as the surgery itself.
One-on-one consultation Jan'05, feel extremely comfortable with Dr. Gritsus. Encouraged me to ask my LONG list of questions, thoroughly answered each and every one, even said he was excited to have such good thorough questions.
Aftercare is strongly emphasized and encouraged.
Staff was friendly and efficient.
Surgery was 2/9 - perfect, no complications. Dr. Gritsus saw me in OR holding area just before going in for surgery - he was warm, friendly, and very upbeat and confident. A very good manner just before surgery! Also saw his PA Dean in the holding area, who was able to spend a little bit more time. He happened to stop by just as I had been starting to get teary-eyed, and he was very sweet and reassuring. He took some time to talk with me and boost me up a bit and that was great.
At this point, I'd highly reccommend Dr. Gritsus. He is surgically quite competent (zero deaths, very low complications) and, while I would ideally have had a little more one-on-one time with him, the time that I have spent with him has never been rushed at all. In the hospital, he had a wonderful bedside manner. Also, I must mention he seems to monitor patients in the hospital VERY closely, so even if he's not there at that moment, I felt confident that he knew exactly how I was doing at all times.
Will continue to update more on Dr. Gritsus as my journey progresses!
