Dr Lamar is very helpful. He allows you to ask all the questions you have. He takes his time explaining the procedure, the facts, and answers all questions. His office staff and very nice. They are helpful when I call in with questions and concerns. I have called many times for different reasons and they have always been very courteous. They make sure my question is answered. My surgery is scheduled for August 15th. I will update on the surgery once it is all done. My surgery went well. Dr. Lamar was awesome. No complications.

Awesome, I had nothing but positive things from Dr. Lamar and his staff. Monique, his nurse, has been a comfort to me, answering any questions that I had postoperatively. The office staff and Linda the coordinator are stupendous at what they do. I would recommend them to anyone, they are all stars in my book!

Dr LaMar is truly amazing. He is a very caring and supportive doctor. His staff is great!!! They were very upfront and honest about the risks, and answered all my questions abou the surgery. Linda helped me get my insurance authorization though. I had a problem arise in my pre-op testing and had to have a gastrectomy. Linda and Dr LaMar worked together to get my insurance approval!! They were very persistant and now I am well on my way to losing weight. In the hospital I had a small problem, Dr LaMar was right on top of it, made sure I was comfortable, and took a few extra tests, and made sure I was fine before being discharged!! I received a follow up call from his staff checking in on me to make sure everything was going fine with my sleeve!! I totally recommend his staff highly!! They are so pleasant, in the office and in the hospital!! Thank you Dr LaMar for giving me my life back!!!

My first impression of Dr. LaMar is that he is no nonsense. That hasn't changed. The office staff is wonderful. New patients should really do their research before they go and see him so that they can ask informed questions. He REALLY emphasizes after care and sticking tot he plan. He was very honest abotu the risks of surgery. I believe his surgical competence is slightly better than his bedside manner.

Bariatric coordinator is stretched very thin. She and I have not communicated well on the phone, however when you meet with her in person she will give you all of her attention. There is some conflicting nutrition information on the packets given to you at the office and the packet given to you at the hospital. Dr. LaMar is very considerate and thorough. He is very absolute on the diet information and can conflict with the office nutritionist. Apparently there is a 1 in 5 failure rate which I was never told. i guess I'm that 1. please don't judge me on eating as I have seen their nutritionist who is the only one from this office who has offered me support.. I have run several races and a half marathon and still have only lost 65 lbs. I have 60 to loose. This failure seems to be ok with the rest of the surgeons. I have been complaining about never feeling full for the first 6 months after the surgery and not having the tool that RNY was supposed to bring to my life. Instead I was told by Dr. Pehrsson to see a therapist. If that would help than surgery would be unnecessary. I think i may go in for a DS with a doctor who at least pretends to care.

Seems sincere, honest and yes he's very tall. The morning of my surgery, Dr. Lamar came over to say hello, He was wearing a suit and tie. Wow! Overtime, Dr. Lamar does care about his patients. Yes he does provide a structured after care program. He does provide the risks during the symposium. When you meet with he does address concerns and stuff. I highly recommend Dr. Lamar. I'm sure the other doctors in his staff are great too.rnrnAs for the staff they are friendly. Watch out for the Nurse, she'll get on you about your protien intake, just make sure u get your protein in and know how much grams of protein u intake per day. Shannon is a doll. Lori, the nutritionist, I love her. She's great! She's very friendly, very postitive and motivational person. She knows her stuff. I can call her whenever I have questions about my nutrition.rnrnMy bf says I'm saying this because I'm regreting my surgery.rnrn

Dr. LaMar was my surgeon. My first impression of him was his height as others have mentioned. He is very professional, friendly, and thorough with any questions that you have. He took my questions seriously and was helpful in reassuring me with any doubts or issues that I was having. His office staff is extremely helpful and have always gotten back to me with any questions that I have had. I would definitely recommend Dr. LaMar and his staff to others.

At my first visit, I thought Dr Lamar was very knowledgeable. He has a lot of experience in this type of surgery. He was very clear about risks and explained the surgery process clearly. After waiting for the surgery for 6 months (something came up in one of my pre-op tests that I needed to take care of first), the office still tracked my chart etc.rn rnI was very impressed with Dr Lamar's care while I was in the hospital. The surgery went smoothly and I am grateful! I would rate this surgeon 5 stars. rnrnThe office staff is very helpful, and they sure are organized. Dr Lamar Office has the full spectrum of after care, they have a nutritionist on staff to answer any questions etc. and support groups, and nurses to answer any question one might have.rnrn
