I really liked my surgeon from the start. He is very friendly a people person. He doesn't rush you, he takes his time to explain everything to you personally. The office staff was excellent also and very helpful to my needs and concerns. He personally called me 2wks before surgery, the night before, and then the day of returning home from the hospital to see if I had any needs or concerns. He is a wonderful Surgeon in a great practice. I loved having to go to only one office to see my Surgeon, weight loss MD, trainer, dietian, and psychiatrist. The support group is helping a lot. I will be in his aftercare program for 2yrs after surgery.
I first met Dr. Kuwada at the information seminar. He was very informative. His staff was excellent. At the time I still wanted to explore other doctors and facilities to see which one would best fit my needs and expectation. After a month or so later I attended another information seminar with a different group. Was not impressed at all. Dr. Kuwada sure set the bar high and ultimately I scheduled my initial visit with him. He was very nice and answered a ton more questions I had. The office staff was very nice. What caught my attention the most about his staff is how they seem to learn who the patients are and form friendships with them. I do have to say the office wait is extremely long or it was my first day there. I look forward to continuing my journey with Dr. Kuwada and all his staff.
He is a very nice person, committed with the quality of service you will receive.rnEvery time its better.rnVery friendly, make you feel like home.rnI haven't found anything wrong, he's a professional.rnHe's a great person and a great surgeon.rnA lot. He wants you to succeed for life.rnYes.rnI was scared because this was my first surgery and after i walked out of his office, I was very confident because he covered everything about the surgery.rnI will give him the maximum rate, he deserves it.rnBoth are great.rn rn
Dr. Kuwada was referred to me by one of my good friends. I was always skeptical of WLS, but after I seen Courtney's results, I had to do it. I seen that nothing \"bad\" happened to her, so why not give it a try. I met Dr. Kuwada and he was sooooo down to earth, very kind, attentive, knowledgeable and reassuring. He went in great detail about both the Lap Band and RNY. He didn't sugar coat anything, but kept it real. He told me the Pro's and Con's of each procedure. In the hosptial, sugery day, he was the same. I felt comfortable with my life in his hands, and besides God, who can you say that about. I recommend everyone who is remotely thinking of WLS to meet Dr. Kuwada. He is a great man and wonderful surgeon!
Dr. Kuwada was amazing, he is a wonderful man with great knowledge and love of his profession and what he does. I never felt stupid or misinformed when asking him questions. He addressed every risk and worry I had during the process. He was realistic and straightforward with me. His staff, nurses & nutritional team have always been willing to help answer questions to whatever I need. They're always a phone call away. He helped me grasp the knowledge/concepts of everything I needed to know before and after surgery. He was hard to get an appointment with at first when I started the process of finding out about the surgery but it was worth the wait! He is a highly respected doctor and I am glad to be one of his patients. I would recommend him to anyone.
My impression of Dr Kuwada is he was a nice dr and answered any questions I had. I did wait in the room for over an hour to see him and kinda felt rushed when he finally came in. The office staff is friendly but dont look for to much from them. I have had allot of run ins with the insurance lady..she just wasnt very helpful..she just acts like she doesnt care. Sherrie the DR's nurse she someone else you have to watch for too. My sister used the same office and had nothing wrong anything went smoth so all and all they are a good office you just have to keep on them and follow up allot. OVERSALL score would be 7 1/2 out of 10
***WARNING!!! I AM HONEST!!*****rnMy 1st impression of him was that he was a short man and spoke english well. lol. He looked like he would have a accent but didn't. He is usually nice but sometimes I felt rushed. The other doctor that works with him that always comes in the room after the nurse and before him asks more questions and is really nice. I like talking with him more than Kuwada for some reason. I always seem to wait/stay there for over an hour. I got aggervated with Dr. Kuwada after surgery because everytime I talked to him about a concern I was having he would say \"that's normal\" and \"give it time\". He is a great surgeon though. He has preformed many gastric surgeries and I didn't have any major complications. My biggest problem was not having some of the drugs I was taking before my surgery. He discontinued all my meds and I really needed some of them. Especially my antidepressant, birth control, gerd med, and thyroid med. The staff at the front desk are nice and I like the nutritionist (Judy, not Sally so much). I really dislike Dr. Kuwada's nurse (Sherrie) though!!!! You hardly ever see her at the office (thank goodness) but she does answer his calls. She really needs to work on her people skills and not talk to people like they are stupid!!! She works for CHS and needs to remember what CHS stands for and the tree of life! She often comes off as being short with people, rude, undependable, and unsympathetic There is usually other nurses/tech. there that take your vitals, get your weight, and show you to the room. Overall, I am satisfied though. He is a great surgeon, most of the staff is nice, and I am losing the weight!
My first impression of Dr. K was that he knew his profession quite well and that he was very concerned with his paitiets. My impression of him didn't change.rnrnI think that future patients should know that he is a very compassionate doctor and care a great deal about his patients. rnrnThere is a structured afercare program. rnrnHe was very open about the risks of the surgey and answered all questions. rnrnI would rate him a 10 on a scale of 1 to 10.rnrnBedside manner and surgical competence are both qualities that Dr. Kuwada has.
Dr. Kuwada was very nice and pleasant on my initial visit. He seemed very concerned aout what I wanted and needed to have done. The office staff at CMC is very nice and polite. They give you a bag that has a notebook full of information, a container for your protein shakes and a set of workout bands. They give you the tools you need to succeed.
My first impression of Dr. Kuwada was that he was very professional and meticulous. That initial impression has not changed one bit over the past 10 months. The night before surgery, he made a personal phone call to my home to check and see if I had any questions, concerns or issues. I have never had a doctor call me prior to a procedure! Dr. Kuwada is very interested in the well being of his patients and even took time to visit my family personally in the waiting room the day of my surgery. He was the only surgeon who did that according to my family. I find that he gives a very high level of care and offers much support. I just have to email him with a question (even at almost 6 months out) and he quickly replies back to my email. rnrnAs far as surgeons go, I do not believe that you could get a better surgeon than Dr. Kuwada. He is the BEST!!!
