Dr. Umbach did my VSG on March 2, 2012. Dr. Umbach & the team at Blossom Bariatric handled my VSG surgery. Very professional. I had all my questions answered and had plenty of time and attention to find out all I needed. I was very pleased with Dr. Umbach and the entire procedure. I highly recommend his services to anyone looking into this surgery.

I have had the very best care. I had absolutely no complications. No post op nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea in the past 4 weeks. I have been extremely satisfied with every aspect of my care and recovery. I made certain I was knowlegeable about the surgery i wanted and was prepared in advance. He and his clinic answered all my questions and they were easy to reach by phone and email. they had one price and I paid $10,400. total. They did not ask for money up front and i paid in full the day of my pre op visit. I am very pleased with my progress and recovery.

Dr. Umbach is a wonderful surgeon! He is very friendly and truly cares for his patients. He gives out his personal cell phone number and calls you personally after surgery. I can't recommend him enough!

My first impression of Dr Umbach was when he first got to Las Vegas his first seminar at the hospital and it was very impressive he took the time to answer any and all questions asked, he never pressured or made you feel you have no choices. He explained all the choices and risks on all procedures there are and how ever long it takes for you to make up your mind me it was 3 YEARS for me which now i regret but now it's over and done with. I was very please with the surgery, hospital and hIs office and staff are extremely helpful professional and caring which is hard to find. No question is stupid or not important and they are there when you need them. So is Dr Umbach he gives you his cell phone number and will answer your calls no matter what day or time of the day you call him.
My only negative thing to say is this is not working fast enough for me. I was hoping to have lost much more weight than i have since my surgery May 18th. to me 16 lbs is not that much. I am hoping I loose more and i guess that will happen once i get to the right dose of solution.

Dr Umbach has made my whole experience with the Lap Band surgery wonderful and easy. He had put me totally at ease before and after the operation. I do not take easily to new doctors but was immediately comfortable with him and his staff.
From the very first appointment he made me feel that all my concerns were answered. The dietitian that he chose for me was wonderful and I felt that I had a good support group if I got into trouble.
I truly feel that this was the best thing that I opted to do in order to lose weight and I feel that Dr. Umbach has encouraged and helped me a lot.
I would recommend him to anyone who is thinking of any surgery for losing weight in a heart beat.

Here I am now one year and 3 (almost 4 months) into my lap band journey. To say it has been easy, would be a lie...would I do it again...in a SECOND!! To date I have lost 82 lbs and still loosing. I am now a new person, but am not finished yet as I still have 20-30 lbs to go for my goal weight. I am not so concerned with the weight as I am with how I feel and how I look in my new body. My face has lost most of the weight as I am looking skinny there!!
I have had to have some of my saline drained as I was having a problem getting my food down and keeping it down. Dr. Umbaugh let me decide how much to remove (1/2 cc was my choice)...well about one hour after eating dinner, I got cramps really bad and got scared, so I called Dr. Umbaugh. I was able to talk to Dr. Umbaugh on his cell phone at home and he stopped his evening plans and put my welfare first and foremost and came into the office at 8:00 pm to remove another 1 cc of saline. He and his beautiful wife Holly sat and talked to me to make sure I was feeling okay before they would let me leave the office. No where do I know of any other doctor that cares so deeply for his patients, as does Dr. Umbaugh. I can't begin to thank him enough for caring and being such a great man. Thank You Dr. Umbaugh from the bottom of my heart!

Dr Umbach's pain prevention and follow up is excellent. He really listens and gets you through any rough bumps. I highly recommend him and his office. My insurance was submitted only once and approved in short time. The office is very efficient. Good luck to all of you

I can't say enough about Dr Umbach. He is great. I was very overweight over 400 lbs. I went to every Bariatric Surgeon in town and they told me I had to lose weight to get surgery. They seemed cold and impersonal. I have a huge hernia resulting from a C-section in 2009 and cannot get it fixed until I lose a significant amount of weight. The other surgeons seemed to know nothing about how to operate while avoiding the hernia. Dr Umbach did not do any damage to the hernia. And was able to easily band me. When you go to the office it is a nice clean environment. There are always people there sharing positive stories. I really feel like Dr Umbach gave me a second chance at life. Edited to add I ended up having to have Gall Bladder surgery March 9 2011 with Dr Umbach and that surgery also went great. And my Gall Bladder was not any fault of the original surgery.

Although I am from Canada I decided to go to Dr. Umbach as he was recommended to me by several people who I trust. He is very personable and takes time to answer your questions - via email, phone and in person. His office staff seemed a lttle new at the time and therefore the frenetic nature of the waiting area was to be expected.
I appreciated both his competence and his professional manner.
I would certainly recommend him to others along with the Seven Hills Surgical Center.
He made my wife feel at ease which is no small task! :)

Dr. Umbach has been so knowledgeable. Any question I had his staff had the answer for me. I had questions and if the staff did not know the answer I can speak to Dr. Umbach himself. It means a lot to me that Dr. Umbach will personally speak to me instead of the regular take a message and no call back from other doctor experiences. I like that there are nutrition classes given pre-op and Marilyn the nutritionist gave us so many helpful tips! The Emmys that I was told to watch on my own computer made me feel more relaxed about my decision and helped answer questions I had. Everytime I go to my follow up appointments I enjoy them. The staff is so welcoming and Dr. Umbach is so kind.
