My first impression of Dr. Verseman was how caring he was.rnHe has continued to exceed my expectations. His office staff is every bit as caring as he is and I have really enjoyed getting to know them.rnI like everything about Dr. Verseman. I think Dr. Verseman does an excellent job educating his patients. He covered the risks exceptionally well. He is profoundly competent and his bedside manner is without equal. rn

Dr Verseman and his staff were great. Gwen talked me through the entire process from the first consultation to the Pre-Op instructional meeting. Their detailed information regarding what to expect both during the hospital stay as well as how to prepare for being released was fantastic. My wife was given all of my prescriptions prior to surgery and lists of supplements and first aid type things that would help my recovery. The aftercare \"program\" coinsided with my insurers requirments. My surgical risks were higher because of my BMI (75 at time of surgery). Dr V was very honest about those. Overall I would give him 10 out of 10 for the flow of the process and the surgical competence he and his staff exhibited. When looking for a surgeon I would have to say surgical competence would be the only consideration for me. I have enough friends, I want my surgeon to be the Best at what he does. If, as in Dr Versemans case, he is a nice personable professional then that is just a Bonus. Also, I cant say enough about Dr. Versemans P.A. , Karen. I never actually met her until the morning of my surgery but she was very reassuring and helpful durring my surgery and hospital stay. For someone who had never had any kind of surgical procedures she made me feel as comfortable as possible. thanx
i had a lap RnY with Dr. Verseman almost 5 years ago, on 12/2/03, when he practiced in Chicago suburbs. He answered every question I had, and there were LOTS of them, with patience and sensitivity.rnrnHe is a warm and genuinely caring person and an outstanding surgeon too! Although he relocated to Kalamazoo several years ago, I still follow up with him there, at least once or twice a year. rnrnI did not much care for some of the other doctors and staff at Suburban Surgical Care and Dr. Verseman is worth the trip to Michigan.rnrnI promise, you will not regret selecting Dr. Verseman for your bariatric surgeon. You will thank your lucky stars you found him and your surgery will go well, if you do exactly what you're supposed to do.rnrnThey know what they're talking about. The exercise is very important! Not drinking with meals is crucial! Take your meds and supplements as prescribed! Get your protein in first and, in my humble opinion, don't go back to the foods that got you into this situation in the first place.rnrnPersonally, I gave up beef, pork, ham, bacon, rich foods, concentrated sweets, etc. and have never regretted it. I don't have the taste for it anymore either. Use the tool Dr. Verseman will give you. See him regularly and take his advice.rnrnYou can't do better than Dr. Verseman. Sorry if this sounds too good to be true but if you know Dr. Verseman, you'll know what I mean.rnrnBest of luck to you!rnrn

I went to Dr. Verseman's seminar on September 13, 2008. I checked out www.jaymd.com (Piatek Institute) in Indy, receiving their DVD last Saturday too. I did this on my own before meeting with my primary physician September 18. I was armed to the hilt with info when I met with him. rnrnI am not sure Dr. Verseman is in our insurance network but will be checking that out. Kalamazoo is a lot closer than Ann Arbor!rnrnI was impressed with his knowledge and would like to go to him if at all possible. If Borgess and Verseman is not in the network, I will be checking up on Dr. Saber and Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo.rnrnUpdate: Dr. Verseman is in our network and I have my first consult date on November 21.
Dr. verseman was very knowledeable, informative and direct. I really felt comfortable talking with him. He even asked my partner how she felt about the surgery. I will post more as my journey goes on.rnrnPost-surgery: He is awesoe all of the nursing staff respect him. He even called me from Chicago to check on me because he knew I wasn;t feeling well. Karen Oor is equally as great and togeather they make a dream team. The bedside care they give is beyond excellent. I am so glad to have chosen them for my surgeons!!rn
Dr. Stuart Verseman is one of the greatest Bariatric surgeon's around, I highly recommend him, I've had no post op complications and I am a revision, had a stomach stapeling in the early 1980's. Borgess Hospital is also getting their Center of Excellance rating approval. We also have an excellent Bariatric Support Team. Dr. Verseman does excellent follow up care with all his patients.
