Dr. Sidney Hu, Bariatric Surgeon Sidney Hu, MD, FACS, FASMBS was born and raised in Kansas City, Kansas, and has dedicated her professional career to making a difference in the lives of her patients using her surgical expertise. Dr. Hu began her career by receiving a bachelor of arts degree in psychology from the University of Kansas and earned a medical degree from the University of Kansas School of Medicine in Kansas City, Kansas. She completed her residency in general surgery at the University of Missouri Health Care in Columbia, Missouri. Currently, she is an Assistant Professor of Surgery in the Bariatric Surgery Division at the University of Kansas Medical Center and a dedicated surgeon at The University of Kansas Physicians Topeka General, Vascular & Bariatric Surgery Center and is affiliated with St. Francis Physicians and St. Francis Health Center. Dr. Hu is board-certified in general surgery and is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons (ACS) and a fellow of the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (FASMBS).
