*My PCP highly recommended Dr. Keith so that gave him a gold star before I met him. My first impression of Dr. Keith (at his seminar) was that he was knowledgeable, intelligent and down to earth.
*My impression did not change about him.
*His staff is excellent, they are always there when I need them.
*I think Dr. Keith is a phenomenal surgeon, but he really doesn't spend much time with you. I saw him at the seminar, my initial consult, during surgery (of course, I don't remember that) and when he released me from the hospital. His staff does the rest.
*Future patients should know that Dr. Keith and his office are extremely busy. They have a ton of patients and will get to you. This is a good thing. It means that Dr. Keith is successful! No matter how many patients they have, when your journey begins, they will treat you like an individual and NOT like cattle (as is the case in other dr. offices).
*Dr. Keith's aftercare program is top notch!
*His aftercare program is structured with follow-up appts. There is also a support group that meets twice per month.
*Dr. Keith discusses the risks of surgery in detail in his seminar.
*Overall, I would rate Dr. Keith, his staff, the hospital, his pre-op program and aftercare progam as FANTASTIC! I recommend him without reservation!
*Surgical competence or bedside manner? Well, of course, both are great...but I would have to say that surgical competence far outweights bedside manner.
I really love Dr Keith and all of his staff. They are all very caring and helpful and when I need to call any of them they tell me to call anytime I need help with anything. He has very very good bedside manners and told me all of the risks and benefits of the surgery and has taken very good care of me. I have and will continue to recommend him to anyone that is thinking about having the surgery.
I attended Dr. Keith's seminar on August 17, 2005. My coworker had Dr. Keith perform her lap bypass last year & was very pleased. I found Dr. Keith to be very knowledgeable, very forthcoming with information, and very down-to-earth. Dr. Nelson, who has recently joined his practice, was also very informative and approachable. Both doctors stayed after the seminar as long as there were people wanting to speak with them. Dr. Keith's staff was courteous, efficient, and helpful. They are making the initial insurance contact for me. While I'm nervous about having surgery, I feel extremely comfortable with my choice of surgeon.
My first impression was that he is a down to earth doctor. He selected all of his pictures in his office. They are all rustic outdoors pictures. He looks more professional from a far, but so personable up close. I felt he listened to every little bit of conversation we had. He looks like he enjoys life and that I was not just another patient.
Dr. Keith's staff is just wonderful. His son works with him and he looks just like his Dad. Cute family.
I really like Jennifer, I feel we connected right off. It means a lot to have people at the doctor's office that treats you more like a friend than a number.
Every one at Dr. Keith's office has been really friendly.
The before and after care, the careful checkup, the many different places the give you to get support and information. They really try to make you as informed a patient as possible.
So far, I would rate him as at least an 8 or 9 out of 10 right now for being a great doctor. I have not had my surgery yet, so the jury is still out.
Love Dr. Keith. Love his staff. Dr. Keith is a genius. His aftercare is very good, considering what's out there in Oklahoma. The pre-op testing and education he requires is ideal. By doing the procedure laparascopically, I was back to work in a week. I've never thrown up, and I've lost 135-140 lbs. and am holding steady at over 2 years postop. I continue to have checkups every 6 months and watch my bloodwork carefully. I still do protein shakes daily because I believe RNY patients will always need them because of the bypassed intestine and the inability to consume enough protein. I also take an array of vitamins.
