My first impression of Dr. Roc Bauman was one of great comfort. I had had gallstones since June of 2001. At least that was when it was diagnosed. I had the pain for about three months before that. It took two months to get in to the specialist my PCP referred me to.

I was amazed and relieved when I finally met Dr. Roc and he had me scheduled for gallstone removal surgery within two weeks.

I felt so comforted by his simple pat on the shoulder before surgery, that I slept far too long after surgery was over. I was so relieved that the gallstone attacks were over. I even slept like a babe the whole next day.

Dr. Roc Bauman is just wonderful!! his staff is excellent and I always felt confident in his care. I could not have been happier with my selection of this practice. He fully addressed the risks, complications etc. of the surgery, he is genuine! From the front check-in desk to the exam room, I was treated with respect - some thing that obese people do not always experice.

very thorough and serious. He wants to make sure that the patient is fully educated and also fully committed and serious about the surgery and maintaining a healthy life style afterwards. He is also extremely serious about a support system being in place and meeting them. He wants to make sure that they are fully aware of what to expect also.
The staff is very nice and personal.
I would rate Dr. Bauman with a 10. We didn't exactly click, but I knew I was in good hands the whole time.
I left the hospital on my 3rd post op day , and the Dr. wasn't able to get around to see me before I left, so he called me at home that evening to check on me. I was impressed.

Dr. Roc Bauman is the surgeon I chose to do my Lap Band. He was very kind, knowledgable, and just plain comfortable to talk to. He has a complete program from Psychiatric evaluation, internal medicine, and of course nutritionist.

Also, he uses Northeast Medical Center and it is a wonderful hospital (not just becase I am a nurse there). Just think I know the inner workings of this hospital and if I am willing to put myself in their hands, that says alot!

Dr. Bauman seems like a great guy. He has been very helpful and informative. He sets everyone up with a nutritionist. The staff has been very welcoming and always willing to answer any questions.

Dr. Bauman has a great bedside manner and is very confident in his abilities. The office staff is friendly and helpful. I feel that anyone using Dr. Bauman should be confident that he will do what's in the patient's best interest. Aftercare is extremely important to Dr. Bauman and he has a very structured program that he requires you take part in. On your first visit to Dr. Bauman's office you watch a video about the surgery that is very detailed about the risks and dangers and even shows the surgery being performed. He then meets with you to go over the risks and gives you tons of information to review before making your decision. He also encourages spouses to watch the film and read the materials. After having my surgery with Dr. Bauman I would never want anyone else to do it. Both surgical competence and bedside manner are great.

My experience with Dr. Bauman's office has been nothing less than perfect. Everyone in the office has been extremely nice, efficient, and knowledgeable.

Aftercare is a very important part of their particular program and the Nutritonist is a very delightful, intelligent, understanding and informative person. She sees you before surgery, during your hospital stay, 2 weeks postop, and then once a month for a year.

The surgery was thoroughly discussed by Dr. Bauman via computer. After this presentation, Dr. Bauman was available in person to answer all questions and clarify anything I did not understand or was uncertain of. I was never encouraged to have the surgery or warned not to have it, but was given much information so that I could decide what I wanted for myself. Positives and negatives surrounding the surgery are all explained as well as the surgical procedure itself.

I have no negative comments about Dr. Bauman or anyone in his office. I feel fortunate to have found them!

Dr. Bauman is a very personable and kind doctor. He is funny and easy to talk to. He answered all my questions and didn't rush me like so many doctors do these days. I have read a lot about him and he has a wonderful reputation. He also did WLS on my 28 year old daughter in 2002 and she is 140 pounds lighter with a brand new 5 month old baby boy. She already had a 3 year old and she is doing great! I decided then that if I ever had this done, Dr. Bauman would be my doctor. His staff is great! They are friendly and make you feel so comfortable. Also they are very helpful, they don't mind you calling or emailing to check on your status and information. He has a wonderful nutritionist that works with him, Diane Stout. My daughter said without Diane it would have been so hard, but Diane made everything easy. After meeting Diane I understand what she meant! This lady is determined that we are all going to be so much better off and she will help us get there!
