Robin P. Blackstone Bariatric Surgeon MD, FACS, FASMBS

I can't say enough wonderful things about Dr. Blackstone and her staff. From day 1, they have been caring, responsive, extremly detail oriented and trust worthy. Her program covers all aspects of life before and after surgery, including pre-op training with nutritionists, exercise therapists, and psychologists. At the time of this posting, I am 5 months post surgery and have had no negative experiences with Dr. Blackstone. Overall, I would rate both the doctor and her program/staff a perfect 10!

I had started out in 5/02 with Dr Zahn to get approved for the surgery. After 4 months they informed me my insurance would not cover their choice of hospital (nice of them to tellme before I waited for my consult) so I switched to Dr. Blackstone. I had to go to another orientation seminar with her even though I had attended Dr Blackstones. I found her seminar much more informative (and I was able to stay awake)and my impression of her was positive. I have not actually met Dr Blackstone yet, my original consult was with someone else in her office. But I found her staff to be very pleasant and help full.
My insurance denied my request for surgery and I am now appealing. Dr. Balckstones office was helpful in directing me where to find information for my appeal and suggestions on what to include on my letter.
I really don't have anything negative to say so far. They got me in fast after I sent in all my info. Have been helpful, and informative.

I was very impressed with Dr. Blackstone. During my initial visit she asked numerous questions relating to my job and family. "Do you have children, their names" & "Do you have any hobbies." That sorta thing. As I was answering her I noticed that she was writing these little tid-bits down in my file. It made me feel comfortable to know she really wanted to get to know me and not just help w/ the weight!

DR Blackstone is woundeful she is well informed and is always willing to answer any questions or concerns you may have. The office staff are great they are really helpfull and understanding.Blackstone really emphasize aftercare and has a great aftercare program and great support groups she even has a support group on line.

well when I first meet robin, blackstone she was very friendly, honest, direct about the procedures of surgery. She made such a great impression I quit smoking a week later, and haven't smoked since how that for a twenty year vet. I've seen her best work on fellow co-workers. she is the best. I hope and pray the lord will bless me to have her for my surgeon, so I can have a chane at life.

Dr Blackstone really cares about her patients. Her staff is very personal and eveytime you talk to them either it be on the phone or in person they act like they have known you for years. Her office has the best after care programe. I belive I have picked the best Doctor in my area.

She is the best. I love her. I have already reccomended her to family and friends. She cares, its hard to find Doctors these days that really cares about you and not just getting paid. She is very skilled. Most Surgeons would have done open bypass with me but she and her awesome staff did it Laproscopic. (excuss my spelling) Her assisant Melissa is just as good as she is and treated my with respect and caring. They are awesome and highly skilled. At first I though I was stuck because they were the only ones my insurance would pay for but now, knowing what I do about them and the entire office and hospital I couldn't be more pleased. It takes awhile to get into the office to get everything going but that is because they are so good. I would have waited twice as long to get the treatment they have given me. Her office staff is very friendly, they have always remembered my name, got back with me immeadiatly and try to work around my schedule. Noreen is a wonderful red hair fireball who is absolutely brillant when dealing with insurances. I had my approval in less then 2 weeks. I can't say enough about the Scottsdale Bariatric Center. They are very strict, more so then other programs in town. I know some people that the Doctors do not tell them how to eat and they are not monitored as well after surgery. With Scottsdale you are told actually what to eat and what do do the protect your pouch. They do this to help us reach goal weight ASAP. To me this means they still care even after they have been paid. What an idea. I love them!!!!

She is wonderful. Very personable as is her team. I really felt she cared about me and I would highly recommend her to anyone. Her team has a 5 hour pre-op and 5 hour post-op class that you must attend. They discuss nutrition, exercise, relaxation, etc. Then she sees you each month for a year to ensure you are on the correct track. I would rate her top-of-the-line in both surgical comptence and bedside manner

I very impressed with her during the weight loss seminar. She came across as very knowledeable and extremely caring.

Future patients should know this doctor is very busy and if they are interested they should begin the process immediately. It has already been 7 months since I first picked up the phone and I'm only too the intial consultation.

This surgeon strongly emphasizes aftercare. She requires you to come in yearly after you have reached your goal weight and stabilized.

She has support groups for before and after surgery online or live.

I can't really comment on more since I haven't meet her personally. But hopefully that will come soon.

I cannot begin to tell you how awesome I think Dr. Blackstone and her team are! They treat everyone like you are the only person they have to deal with. Dr. Blackstone and Scottsdale Bariatric have an entire program. It starts with the orientation, and continues with you for life! They have nutrional educations classes before and after the surgery. There is a monthly support group that both the doctor and psychologist attend, as well as a montly on-line chat forum that the doctor particpates in as well! They work hard at making me successful! They are fantastic.
