I had my meeting with Dr. Wetherille on 2/24/05.He's a very nice and informative surgeon. He made me at ease going over my medical chart and commenting on how the GBS would help my conditions and that he felt I was a good candidate.Everyone I had to work with on his staff seems very nice and understanding. Most of the staff nurses have been threw the surgery also so they can talk from experience which makes me feel more at ease.Aftercare was greatly emphasized because if you don't follow what your told to do after the surgery then it will all be done for nothing because you'll have problems with your health and getting to your desired weight and keeping it off. They have aftercare appointments scheduled every so often after surgery to keep an eye on your health. They covered all the risks of surgery and made me feel at ease with my chances of not having any problems. So far, since I don't have the surgery until 3/2, I feel I'll be in good hands with Dr. Wetherille and his staff at Methodist Hospital. These are just my personal impressions of my own personal experience and other people may have different experiences than me.
He is very distinguised. Very serious about his work. He gives the air of caring and concern for each and every patient and makes you feel you are the only one. He takes time to talk and explain every detail. And he listens to your questions and concerns. His staff is kind and helpful. From 1-10, I would rate him and his staff a 12.
He's a very nice outgoing doctor. I couldn't have received a better surgeon. His office staff is so caring, especially his nurse Kurt. He is very helpful because he has had the surgery and knows first hand what patients go through. Future patients should know that Dr. Wethrille is an excellent surgeon. You'd be in good hands with him. On the scale of 1-10 he would be a definite 10!
My first impression was good. He was very personable, kind, and made me feel safe. I've only had my inital visit with him so I can only tell you about that. His office staff were very professional and considerate. They made the entire visit very comfortable and easy to ask lots of questions. There is nothing that I didn't like about him. He is very willing to answer any questions you might have. He is very thorough, along with his staff, about what to expect step by step about the surgery. Aftercare is important and you meet with him 7 days following the surgery for f/u and to have your drain removed. Overall, I would rate him a 10 for Great!I haven't had my surgury date yet, so the saga continues at a later date...:)
Had visit with nurse in 8/03. After waited for psych evaluation, sleep study and insurance approval before I can meet with surgeon.
Visit with surgeon 1/8/04. Dr Wetherille made fell very confident about having the procedure. He explained every in detail.
Had lap band on 2/16/04. Visited with surgeon before surgery and the next morning. Overnight at Methodist Hospital. No major problems.
