So far I have met him only twice. As far a personality, I can't really comment. He is professional, not especially warm, but definately exudes the confidence you want in a surgeon. All he does is lap band, you can go home the same day, my recovery has been AWESOME, so much easier than I expected. His clinic is great, professional, on top of the insurance issues, and any complications. He has a structured aftercare, I'm only 5 days post op, but I so far, I would recommend him again.
Dr. Wetherille is a great surgeon. He is not touchy feely, but will be happy to talk to you and your family and answer any and all questions. I really got a great vibe from him and he did a wonderful job on my surgery. The staff in the office and at the hospital were so great. I highly recommend PN!!!
I loved my surgeon. I met with him one time before surgery and he made me feel very very comfortable with my decision for the lap band. His office staff were also wonderful, I had many questions before the surgery and they never hesitated to call me or answer any questions stupid or not. They were always pleasant. The only thing I would want changed is that I feel that they should call you the day after you go home to check up on you. I had some questions but I made it through it without talking to them. I really like Park Nicollet Bariatrics and I would suggest them to anyone that is interested in the lap band or RouenY.
My first impression of Dr. Wetherille was postive and he was straight forward in telling you what he was going to due at the date of the operation and was willing to answer your questions to your understanding. The day of the surgery there was an issue with some of my blood work and he was informative and explained the problem before deciding if I was going to have the operation or not. After the surgery Dr. Wetherille came by both days I was in the hospital to check on me and was considerate and concerned about the operation. I would rate Dr. Wetherille as a excellant caring surgeon looking out for your intersts.
I have been banded by Dr. Wetherille twice. The first time, I had major complications from vomiting and ended up in the hospital. Dr. Wetherille was there every day and was genuinely concerned about the issues and my progress. When the time came for my rebanding, Dr. Wetherille was very positive and supportive.
The whole Park Nicollet program is pretty good - lots of support from the nurses and staff, efficient appointment scheduling, etc. There was some bias towards RNY when I first started with them in 2005, but I think that may be changing as they get more experience with the band. They staff does attend conferences and stays up to date on the latest developments wit the band, and holds a monthly band oriented support group.
Dr. Wetherille is no-nonsense but very supportive and will take the time to answer any questions or concerns you have. He did make sure I understood the benefits and risks of the band, and I have always felt very comfortable and secure in my choice of surgeons.
