The only regret I have about my gastric sleeve surgery on December 30, 2013 is that I didn't do it years before. This surgery has changed my life! I have lost 62 lbs., and this surgery has given me an invaluable tool....control over food! I went into this life changing adventure with a lot of fear, but Dr. Mailapur and his staff were wonderful in guiding me through each step. The day of my surgery, I was excited and ready to begin my weight loss journey, due to the knowledge that I had gained from Dr. Mailapur and his staff. They make sure you know exactly what it is your signing up for. People ask me all the time would I do it again and my answer is "Yes, absolutely, Yes!" Thank you Dr. Mailapur! You are the greatest!

I had Bypass on May 12, 20014. So far so good. Everyone at Dr. Mailapurs office was very inviting and informational. I liked that he informs you on everything and doesn't just throw you out there and make you guess what ur doing. IF i have any questions i have plenty of resources to refer to or get in contact with. Im very happy with choosing him cause he is a very sweet caring doctor. I would recommend him to anyone.

I would just like to say first of all that this has been the best decision I have ever made. Dr. Mailapur has been great thru out the entire process. He was very straight forward to the point and never left not even one detail of the process. Dr. Mailapur has given me the tools and the ability to start over in life so that I can live a happier and productive life not only for me but for my family. This was a life changing event for me not only in my personal life but in my professional life. There is not one thing that I would change in this process and if faced with the decision to do it again I would in a heart beat. I could go on and on about how this surgery has changed my life but I want. Know this, it was a great success but this type of surgery is not for the weak minded individuals looking for a quick fix. This is just a tool to help you start over and you can very quickly return to the old life you lived. This Is A LIFE STYLE CHANGE its not a DIET!!!!!! Dr. Mailapur is not only a GREAT surgeon but has a great bedside manner. He makes you feel like you are family and he has genuine concern for you. He gives you time to ask any questions or answer any concerns. He gave me my health back. I am so grateful for his services. If you are considering Bariatric surgeon please go talk with him. He is also a general surgeon and can help with other needs as well.

I saw Dr. Mailapur for my first visit in Aug of 2013. He was very professional and answered all my questions and concerns about my interest in the gastric sleeve. As soon as I walked into his office I was greeted by smiling faces that did not judge me for my size or my reason for being there. Dr. Mailapur performed my gastric sleeve on 4/14/14 and I do not regret one minute of my journey with him and his staff. He has a very structured plan of care both before and after surgery that will assist anyone in their weight loss goal. He stresses that surgery is a tool not a fix and he is willing to help in anyway he can for you to be successful. He has a great bedside manner and is very competent in his surgical skills. As a Nurse Practitoner myself I would highly recommend him to my friends or family!

Dr. Mailapur is an excellent surgeon. I did extensive research before I made the first step and visiting a surgeon to discuss my option of weight loss surgery. Dr. Mailapur came highly recommended and I couldn't have been more pleased. Dr. Mailapur and his staff have been extremily helpful in preparing me for my surgery and afterwards. A true standard of excellence!

My first impression of Dr. Mailapur was that he really knew what he was talking about and that he had a great staff around him. Beginning with the seminar I attended for people who were looking into having WLS, I found both he and his staff were going above and beyond providing information about the surgery and life after the surgery.

Dr. Mailapur stated right from the start, he could provide a tool to help with weight loss with the surgery but he couldn't fix our head.

Even before I had the surgery, I started attending the support groups that meet at the hospital. I'm pretty sure that these are facilitated by Dr. M and his staff. I can't emphasize enough how important those meeting were and are to me.

Dr. M's staff were very helpful and answered readily questions that I had as I fulfilled my insurance requirements. They were available both over the phone and through email. (I'm talking about you Jessica)

When the day arrived for surgery I was very nervous. Dr. M came in to see me as I was being prepped for surgery that morning and told me "I'm going to take good care of you." I knew he would and he did.

The day after surgery, Angi Achenbach and a few people who had the surgery visited me in my room. Told me "welcome to the losers bench" and gave me encouragement.

After care was very good. As an example, I probably got on my recumbent bike a few days too soon and took a spill. I got a bit worried and called Dr. M's office after hours. Dr. M returned my call immediately. He even called a couple of days later on a Sunday to check in on me.

Overall, I only have glowing things to say about Dr. M and his staff. I am so glad I had this surgery. I know that having had this procedure will probably extend my life. If you are contemplating having surgery, I can assure you, you will not go wrong choosing Dr. M and his team.

Doctor Mailapur and his staff are truly professional,caring and understanding.
I was so upset with the way I looked and felt,before surgery,every day my back, knees and feet hurt.
I was very skeptical about surgery,I thought I would be trading one set of problems for another .
I am happy to say boy was I wrong!
since my gastric sleeve surgery in Dec. 2013 I have lost 115 pounds.
Every day I cannot believe how good I feel,I walk 2 miles every day and lift weights,not because I feel I have to, but because I want to.
I no longer take any blood pressure meds.
I have had back surgery 2 times. At one time I was taking pain medicine just to make it through each day.

I was very concerned about pain from surgery because I am through with taking any thing narcotic for pain.
I am happy to say I did not need anything for pain but for small amount of liquid Tylenol.
If I had it to do over again the only thing I would do, is to do it sooner.
I have struggled with my weight all my life and now at age 50, I feel like I have control.Not a miserable crash diet kind of control, but a confident, positive ,calming ,control over a part of my life that I have never had before.
It has had an effect on my life that is truly great.
I can not say enough good things about Doctor Mailapur and his staff.
God blesses people with the ability to do certain things .
I truly believe that God has blessed Doctor Mailapur with the skills needed to help people
like me ,and for that I am truly greatfull.

Dr. Mailapur is excellent. He is very straight forward and do not sugar coat anything. He has your best interest in heart. I'm happy I chose him to do my surgery.
