Dr. Rajev Nain, Bariatric Surgeon

Rajev Nain, MD is a board-certified general and bariatric surgeon specializing in minimally invasive laparoscopic and robotic surgery at Inova Bariatric Surgery. He earned his medical degree at Marshall University School of Medicine in Huntington, West Virginia and completed his general surgery residency Christiana Care Health System in Delaware. He then went on to complete a minimally invasive surgery fellowship at Penn State University School of Medicine.

Dr. Nain is a member of the American College of Surgeons (ACS), the Society of the American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES), the Society of Laparoscopic and Endoscopic Surgeons, and the Prince William Medical Society.

Dr. Nain saw the increased rate of obesity and related complications amongst his patients, and became determined to make a difference and focused much of his surgical skills on performing weight loss surgery. He has specialized training from Apollo Endosurgery and in robotic surgery using the da Vinci Surgical System. He is passionate about helping his patients live healthier and longer lives through weight loss surgery, lifestyle changes, and ongoing support.

Dr. Nain routinely performs laparoscopic and DaVinci robotic weight loss surgery procedures including the Roux-en-Y (RNY) Gastric Bypass, Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy (VSG), Adjustable Gastric Band procedures, and weight loss surgery revisions. He also offers the Orbera Balloon System which is a non-surgical option.

In addition to bariatric surgery, Dr. Nain expertly performs minimally invasive surgical procedures including hernias, colo-rectal, anti-reflux, solid organ (such as an appendectomy), and endoscopy.
