he was great from the begininng. Did not rush my out of his office and is cordial everytime I see him. His staff seems rough around the edges at first, but become more friendly once you become a "fixture" at the office (you have to go once a week prior to surgery to pick up Optifast). I cannot say anothing bad about him. He has never given me reason. Future patients should know that your first impression of Dr. Vohra may be that he's not apporchable, but it's the opposite. At the yearly Holiday Party for his past, present and future patients, there was a chef demostating different healthy meals. I arrived late and did not have a handout containing these recipies. I asked Dr Vohra (who sat directly in front of me) where would I get the handout from and he handed me his! The aftercare is strict, but this is not your hair or nails; this is your life and if you are not prepared to go with this 150%, don't do it. Between the pre-op appointments and everything else you go through, it can be very overwelming. The risk of surgery were address through a pamphlet and my PCP, but not by Dr. Vohra or his staff. I rate him overall an 8. The reasons for this is his office hours aren't the greatest. Surgical competence and bedside manner are equally important and I believe not only is the surgery my option, but Dr. Vohra is the best surgeon to preform it.
Dr. Vohra is the most knowledgeable compassionate Doctor that I have ever come in contact. I was told by others that Doctor Vohra wasn't personable, but I experienced something different. Doctor Vohra took my hand and told me that he was going to take care of me, and he sure did. My opinion of Dr. Vohra only gets better each time I see him. Dr. Vohra has an awesome staff. Amy Noe is amazing - she is my hero, she went above and beyond for me. My whole experience dealing with Dr. Vohra and his staff was one I will never forget. I overall the program the staff with a 10. You would be crazy to consider any other doctor than Dr. Vohra.
Dr.Vohra is a highly skilled experienced surgeon.
Office staff is somewhat overwhelmed.
He is one of the few surgeons interviewing adolescent patients.
Medical aftercare is not particularly structured.
Support group is active but ineffective in communicating with former patients particularly after one year.
Patients are well advised of risks to surgery.
In general, I would rate the program as excellent.
DOCTOR WAS VERY DEDICATED AND SERIOUS ..
OFFICE IS VERY BUSY .. IF U ARE LOOKING FOR INDIVIDUAL ATTENTION AND TO BE SEEN BY THE DOCTOR FOLLOWING SURGERY MOST LIKELY WILL NOT HAPPEN.. PHYSCIANS ASSISTANTS ARE THERE AND ONLY FEW DAYS A WEEK. AFTER CARE U ARE ON YOUR OWN.. EXCELLENT SURGEON. READ AND ASK OTHERS WHO HAD THE SURGERY PRIOR TO HAVING IT.. SO U KNOW WHAT TO DO AND EXPECT..
knowledgeable, experienced, interested. my opinion did not change over time. his associates are wonderful too.
tThe office staff are always pleasant and helpful.
Aftercare is encouraged. The PA,Amy and dietician are available when needed, although the office is busy and there may be a long wait.
We have support groups the first Tuesday of every month and will shortly have our own website.
The information preop was discussed by Dr. Vohra, Amy (nurse in charge of program), and the nurse at South Nassau at preop testingI trust Dr. Vohra and associates with my life.
My impressions were neutral at first. I do not "impress" easily. However, from the very first appt. with Dr. Vohra, I was comfortible and felt his concern. The staff is wonderful. Only criticism is that it was difficult to "catch" him to speak on the phone, but that's OK, because he is so busy "saving" others. No need to question his competency or character. Dr's aftercare is very structured and thorough. One of my only concerns since I left Long Island is that I am not attending his aftercare sessions. All risks of this operation were adequately addressed. Overall, Dr. Vohra gets an A+++. On a one to one basis the doctor is very warm gentleman.
WHEN I FIRST SAW DR. VOHRA AT THE SEMINAR HE WAS VERY PROFESSIONAL.WHEN I MET HIM PERSONALLY, HE WAS VERY WARM AND FRIENDLY.MY HUSBAND WAS WITH ME ON THIS VISIT , AND THE DR. WAS JOKING WITH HIM THE MINUTE WE WALKED INTO THE ROOM. DR. VOHRA IS VERY WILLING TO LISTEN TO ANY CONCERNS YOU HAVE, AND TO REASSURE YOU WITH CONFIDENCE AND SOLID INFORMATION. I'M VERY HAPPY THAT DR. RAJEEV VOHRA IS MY SURGEON.
