Prithvi Legha Bariatric Surgeon M.D., F.A.C.S.
I first "met" Dr. Legha at an orientation. It was the second orientation I had been to. The first one scared me, it was given by another doctor. The second one with Dr. Legha and his team made me feel that this was the right thing to do. He has a great support team, not only with the medical foundation but also with the hospital. My first impression of him was that he was somewhat distant, but after a few visits I found him a man of few words but very caring. He made sure I knew what I was getting into, explained things well, and his staff made sure everything kept moving forward. In talking to nurses from the hospital, I found he is very well respected and handles the difficult cases that other hospitals turn away. I had no apprehension about the surgery, he made sure I knew the risks but I knew I was in good hands. He and his staff emphasize the need for followups and support. Before my surgery I had two followup visits already scheduled. I know Dr. Legha and his team will be with me for a long time.
Dr. LEGHA AND HIS STAFF ARE THE SHIZZZZ!!!! The whole process was so easy and even when unexpected events like my company changing my insurance provider happened, they worked it out to bump my surgery date up so that I would not have to start the process over. I can't say enough great things about Dr. Legha, the nutritionist Seema and his coordinator Susan. I woke up with ZERO pain! A little nausea and a bit of discomfort, but not any pain. Since my surgery, I am down 24 lbs. Since the begining of the whole process, I am down 40. I'm extremely pleased with the complete experience and would pick Dr. Legha again in a heartbeat.

Dr. Legha Rocks! He is no longer with Kaiser, but with Camino Medical Group. He is so nice, so informative and very caring. He is a wonderful surgeon who really cares. He is very attentive from the first visit to way beyond post op. He has a wonderful support group that meets monthly and I am so pleased I used him!

Dr. Legha seemed a little distant and clinical on the first visit. He seemed very confident and was able to give me a lot of useful information. We discussed the surgery and he went over the possible complications. I felt very secure with him. The second visit went much better. He was more open and friendly. Each visit after that, I felt him lighten up even more and become friendly. He now hugs me each time he sees me. He gave me back my life and I will always appreciate what he has done for me. His assistant Susan is a peach.

Dr. Legha is a part of Camino Medical Group in Sunnyvale now. I went to an informational seminar that he held along with several other health care providers. It was filled with great details and program ideas. Their process is down to a science and they have a lot of support that they require you to use in order to assure success. I have an appt on Oct 27 for my consultation with him. So far he seems like an excellent physician.
First of all, Dr Legha is now with Camino Medical Group, Sunnyvale, Ca (as of late 2005.) I just met him today and 1st impression was he is very compitent, he wants each of his pts to succeed and he is implementing classes and support groups and provides a WLS "bible" (soon to be available) to each client. He explains everything very well and by the end of the appt I did not have any questions. He was a down to business guy w/specific questions and no room for small talk left, but I did not fell rushed. Also, he was very adamant about aftercare, he and CMG's endocrinologist follow you carefully for 5yrs. The staff at Camino Medical Group is very courteous. I really liked him ( I thought I would not really be comfortable w/a male, but it was no problem.) To me, both bedside manner and surgical competence are equally important.
