Dr. Chin is a very caring person. I saw him about 4 days out of the 5 day stay in the hospital. My surgery went well, my inciscion is beautiful, it is healing well. Dr. Chin answered all my questions. I thank him very much.

when i first met Dr Chin at the group Dr talk meeting, i thought he looked rather young. But meeting with him on the one on one both my husband and I found him to be helpful, answered all our questions and did not seem rushed or that he needed to get out of the room for other patients. He took all the time we wanted to make aure all question and concerns were dealt with. Everyone in his office at Lite Dimensions were wonderful. everyone was always pleasent and did net make you feel like you were calling with silly questions or for nothing. I would refer friends and others concidering the surgery to use him

Dr Chin was younger looking than in his picture on the web so I was pleasantly surprised. Dr. Chin is a very nice man who took the time to tell me the risks and things that I needed to know and he also listened to me and answered my questions.
There was nothing that I didn't like about Dr Chin. He is a very knowledgeble doctor and I felt comfortable and secure in knowing that he was doing my surgery. I recommend Dr. Chin to an Lite Dimensions patient. You will be in great hands.

Dr. Chin, i meet at a sport group he seemed pretty cool and new his stuff, i was impressed.

Afer meting with him on my one on one talk he seemed like he had better things to do than sit and answer my questions, though he answred every question i asked , thats a surgen for you!

Dr. Chin is a great speaker and he is a good person i saw him the other day at a meeting i work in the hospital and he was doing a disscussiong on wls,

We will se what happens after surgery!

I would like to apologize to Ann got to meet with her and she is a real nice gal, unfortuantely i put her name out there and it wasnt her that had the problem was with, after talking to her we came to the conclusion of who was the individual and since they dont work there anymore we will not mention the name. so i would say the Smart dimesion team is great!!and they are doing great job...

My experience was a little out of the ordinary, because I did not meet Dr. Chin until just minutes before my surgery, in the holding room just outside the ER! I was scheduled with and had consulted his partner Dr. Ali, but Dr. Ali was called out of town on a family emergency. I could either reschedule with Dr. Ali or go ahead on the day as planned with Dr. Chin, which is what I chose to do, as I felt that all 4 of the surgeons in the Fountain Valley group were highly competent. Three of the 4 surgeons rotated on daily rounds post-op during my stay, so I saw all the surgeons except Dr. Francis (although I understand she assisted Dr. Chin in my surgery).

I believe that many others here have well described this Lite Dimensions group and the 4 doctors, with their comprehensive program, the thoroughness of the pre-op consult appt., the liaison (DeDe) who visits each patient in the hospital each day, the structured and detailed post-op food plan that is distributed at the required nutritional class pre-op, and so on. I would like to focus here on one aspect of my hospital experience, in hopes that other patients might be spared the psychological complications that I went through:

I have had Generalized Anxiety Disorder for several years, and I take 2 Rx's for this as needed. At the time of surgery, I was needing these meds infrequently, usually for something like a dentist appt. or other particularly stressful situation. As this was my first-ever major surgery and overnight stay in a hospital, I can easily state that this was the most stressful experience of my life. However, I was given NO anti-anxiety meds (I take Ativan/lorazepem and Klonopin/clonazepam) for the first whole week of my 10-day stay. (My stay was twice as long as anticipated due to several various complications.) That first week I held up pretty well, but the stress finally hit me so bad that I nearly had an emotional meltdown. Late into Night Seven I wrote a letter to Dr. Chin (note: take paper and pen w/ you to the hospital!!) pleading for these meds, which I finally got.

In fairness to Dr. Chin, perhaps it was his last-minute assignment to me that made him less familiar with my chart and med history. This oversight is really the only complaint I have against my surgeon.

But based on my experience, I STRONGLY URGE ANY PATIENT WHO IS TAKING ANY MEDICATIONS FOR EMOTIONAL/MENTAL ILLNESS, SUCH AS DEPRESSION, ANXIETY, ETC. TO DO THE FOLLOWING: HAVE YOUR PRESCRIBING DOCTOR WRITE A SEPARATE PRE-OP LETTER TO THE SURGEON DETAILING YOUR MEDICATIONS AND THE NEED FOR THESE MEDICATIONS TO BE MAINTAINED DURING YOUR HOSPITALIZATION!!! (This is especially important if you are being prescribed these meds by a psychiatrist or other doctor who is not your PCP or general physician. And DO NOT assume or rely on any required pre-op psychological evaluation report to include this information. Even if it does, this report may be filed away in your chart and not be specifically referred to by your surgeon while you are in the hospital.)

I realize this posting is lengthy, but I want to spare anyone else the emotional complications that I went through, which I feel would have been avoided, or at least minimized, if my meds had not been withheld like they were.

Very professional, answered my questions without rushing me.

Office staff is very nice, really know what they are doing, my disability got mailed on time!

I like Doctor's that will assure me a lot, and I did not get that from him

That clinically he has a great rep, and ultimately that is what counts

I did not get any aftercare instructions from him, I just was told to come in in two weeks

I met with Dr. Chin on May 8th and felt very relieved. He was supportive and made me feel at ease.

Very pleasant, I felt confident in his skills. Was very forthcoming about the risks of surgery. Since my initial surgery would include a hernia repair, the chance of infection was a major concern. After the surgery my impressions remained positive.

Office staff - sometmes it took a while to get a return call.

If you are a Blue Shield patient be aware - you will have to pay the cost of the assisting surgeon since Dr. Chin is the only Blue Shield provider in the Lite-Dimensions group.

I liked him. He was professional polite. The office staff was superb.

The bariatric program assistant disappeared before I was discharged from the hospital and I was disappointed that she did not return when she said she would. She was supposed to bring some protein for us to buy. I was counting on that.

He let me know that I had to see him or my own physician 2 weeks postop. I live out of town and my own physican was out of town so I will have my first post op one month after surgery. I feel really great. No complications and my nurse friends say I am healing nicely.

He addressed the risks in detail.

I rate Dr. Chin number one.

I am not a high maintainance kind of girl but I do like quality. Dr. Chin made a beautiful incision and he did wonderful work inside because I have not had complicatons at all. I did go by his aftercare plan and all is well. His bedside manner was professional and I wouldn't want it any other way.

Thank you Dr. Chin.
