The first time I met Dr. Chin I was a little put off by what I precieved to be a bit of Coldness. Once I spoke with him I did feel he warmed up and I discovered that he was extremialy cordial, supportive and attentive once I was in the hospital.
I had the procedure on March 16th and came home on the 19th. I have been blessed so far with no complications and I am presently just re learning how to eat.
Dr. Chins staff were friendly and supportive through out the process. The clinic does use some outside nutritionists for some of the workshops i am was not always pleased with them, but nothing is perfect.
Dr. Chin was very nice. He seems VERY CAREFUL and doesn't take risks. At first I was disappointed that he canceled my surgery date due to minor complications. I now realize he was just looking out for me and I am thankful that we canceled and are addressing my problems. The Staff at Smart Dimensions is very nice although there has been some miscomunication between them and St Jude Heritage Group. There has been difficulty with paperwork not being shared between the two groups. My surgery came and went with no complications. It was about 4hrs long and they did take my Gallblader out under recommendation from my Gastro specialist and PCP. They also did a liver biopsy (everything good). After 5 weeks you can not even tell I had surgery. The 7 little scars are almost gone!
My first impression of Dr. Cin was that he was very professional. He reviewed with me what I could expect from the surgery. He answered all of my questions. I did not feel rushed at all. He was very kind and a bit shy I thought. I did get him to smile, he was a little to serious LOL. The office staff at Smart Dimensions were very professional and followed up on every issue I had. I never even spoke to my insurance company. Smart Dimensions really prepares it's patients for the surgery before during and after. It's a specilized structured program that gives you the needed tools to be sucessuful. I really noticed that alot of people who have had WLS were not properly informed as to what to eat post op. It seems some programs don't have you attend a nutrition class or give you hand outs etc. I would highly recommend Smart Dimensions to anyone looking to have WLS.
I liked Dr Chin right from the beginning. He has a no nonsense approach. He answered all my questions patiently.
The staff at Smart Dimensions are great and upbeat. I never felt I was imposing when I called with question after question.
After surgery, Dr Chin visited me every morning between 7 and 7:30 AM in a suit, no less. Still no nonsense but very pleasant and calming.
I could not have chosen a better surgeon.
My Lap was 1 3/4 hours long.

I met Dr. Chin the day before my surgery. He was very nice, explaining in great detail everything they would be doing the day of my surgery. After my surgery, he came in to see me everyday and check on me. He is a very caring doctor and you can tell he really cares about his patients.
The staff at Lite Dimensions is awesome. They are so friendly and helpful and supportive, it is a very cozy feeling walking into that office everytime. The nutrition class they give before surgery is a very thorough, informative class. It is easy to follow the guidelines by the way they have set up the allowed/disallowed foods, and the sample menus are a good tool to follow. They guided me thru every step from the first forms of paperwork, to the morning of my surgery, they were there for me... And Dede is wonderful!!!!
I would definitely recommend Dr. Chin to anyone considering having this surgery.
