My surgeon, Dr. LePort, was very thorough. I had laproscopic Rouyen Y which consisted of only six little incisions. In my case the surgery itself went without any problems. My gall bladder was removed at the same time to prevent future problems because it had a few small stones that didn't show up during the testing. The office staff was helpful and very supportive. I didn't see much of the doctor in aftercare because I didn't have any problems, making the checkups routine and therefore done by other staff members. I was told of every risk possible and given papers that listed these risks so that I could further study the information before I decided to have the surgery. I also underwent a psyc exam and had to have tests done in a hospital to check the condition and health of my heart, lungs, stomach, intestines, etc. In my personal opinion, I couldn't have had a better surgeon for this particular surgery than the one I had. rnrnPersonally, I think surgical competence is the most important consideration. If the best surgeon comes with a good bedside manner, then that's a blessing. But to me the bedside manner isn't what I'm looking for when I choose someone who will hold my life in his or her hands while they cut me open and operate on me. rn

Dr. LePort, and his staff with Smart Dimensions, are the best medical team I've ever dealt with.

2-6-07 So far I have not met any of the surgeons in Dr. LePort's \"Lite Dimensions\" staff, I have just read about their credentials and the testimonials from patients online, which are great. But what has really \"sold\" me on them is their staff - or at least one of them. Dede is her name and she is FANTASTIC!!!! I have talked to her several times and she has always been polite, patient and helpful. She's a wonderful person to deal with!!! Yeah Dede!!!!

Dr. LePort is the best! My surgery went very well. He sure knows what he is doing. He came to see me 3 times in the hospital. I did not expect to see him but once. He is very personable and made sure you knew everything you needed to know before he let you go! Great job, thanks.

My whole experience was great. I saw my doctor twice before surgery. My first impression of him was that he was very knowledgeable and answered all my questions with great respect. He and his office staff are very professional and helpful. Aftercare is important to him and I do have a plan to follow. He gave me a list of the surgery risks and talked about each of them with me in detail. My overall rating of Dr. LePorte is 9 out of 10. (No one is perfect SMILE) Surgical competence is my greatest concern but a doctor with a good bedside manner is good too. I saw Dr. LePorte right after surgery but then not again while I was in the hospital. I was there five days. I did see his PA a couple of times. I would have like to have seen Dr. LePorte but I understand how busy he is.

Dr. LePort and his team are the best. They were very thorough with all preop and they didn't sugar coat anything. I felt completely prepared and ready to face the challenge ahead of me. I had researched for about 3 years before taking the big step and I knew immediately when I walked through their doors that I had found the right person for me. Everyone on the team was warm and friendly. After surgery, they put together a support group in my area that was an absolute life saver. The doctors on the team came to the meetings to answer any \"technical\" questions we had and the group is led by a therapist who specializes in WLS. They have thought of everything to help ease you into this new phase of your life and to make sure that you will be a success story.

Since I am pre-op I have only met Dr. Le Port once. He dropped by the support group to answer any concerns the group might have. He was professional yet projected a caring, warm attitude. He was willing to answer any and all questions to the fullest and stayed until all questions were exhausted. My husband and I both felt comfortable and I have selected Dr. Le Port as my surgeon.rnrnHis office staff reflects the attitude of Dr. Le Port. They are efficient and personable.

At first, I was a little apprehensive in meeting Dr. LePort becasue I really wanted to have the surgery near home. Fountain Valley is a distnace away and I was not familiar with the surgeon nor the hospital. After meeting, I felt very much at ease and the only fear I had was the fear of surgery. He's a great guy and I have the utmost respect for him. His office staff has been very helpful. Although I have had to have a few appointments change due to their mishaps. Otherwise, they all have been helpful. Especially Tammy. She's a sweetheart! For future patients, I do recommend Dr. LePort. As for the hospital, I had such a great experience with the hospital and the staff. I could not have asked for a better group of individuals to help me with this new chapter in my life.

Dr. LePort and his staff are outstanding. Dr. LePort is a very busy man, but it's obvious he cares deeply about his patients. He has the hospital personnel at Orange Coast Memorial Hospital well trained in caring for bariatric patients and they were wonderful with me. There are support group meetings 3 X/week in three different locations, there is also a new monthly meeting opening up. There are nutrition classes set up as well. I was very impressed that when I called after hours with a question, I was given the home number of the doctor on call. As far as I know, Dr. LePort does not go on call, and like I said, he is very busy so unless I have some really serious problem I will go to his physician's assistant with my questions. His surgical competence is fantastic. Dr. LePort is very professional and businesslike, not exactly a "teddy bear". I wasn't looking for warm and fuzzy feelings, though, I wanted a surgeon who would know what to do in case of emergency and I had full confidence in Dr. LePort.

I have only recently met him and then only for about 15 minutes. He seems very quiet and he was very pleasant for the time he spent with me.

The staff seems confused and I always come away with a sense of chaos when I leave a class or appointment. It's very unorganized.

However, I picked this surgeon because after my research he came out on top in my area (Orange County , CA).
