I first met Dr. Richardson at the seminar I went to. I had my first appt. with him after I had gotten insurance approval. He was very nice and informative and told me about the risks of the surgery and the pros for it. I saw him the day of the surgery for a few min. and I will see him again Wed. for my followup visit. His office staff is very nice and will help with anything you need. They keep you updated on insurance problems or whatever they may need to get the approvals.
I was completely happy with my surgeon. I safe because he is very consevative and double checks everything. Some of the other doctors allowed patients to have ice chips right after surgery, and while I wished I could at the time, I am happy he took all the precautions he could. The post op visits are rushed so make sure you know what you want to ask so you don't panic and forget.
I researched my options for weight loss surgery for a couple of years. I went to three seminars to find out what I could, and that's when I made my final decision. I chose Dr. Richardson because he gave a good presentation about each surgery. I also had researched on the net and found he had done well over 1000 surgeries. He had another physician assist on my surgery, Dr. Folwell. I met him briefly before the surgery. He was also very pleasant. My experience at St. Alexius was also good. It is an old inner city hospital, but I didn't think it was dirty. If you are looking for brand new, I wouldn't go there.rn I have worked in healthcare for years, and one thing that stood out in my mind was the OP testing. After each procedure that I had to have, the person who performed my test walked me to the next department. I appreciated that personal touch. rnSo far, my aftercare has been good. Dr. Richardson is a very busy man, and you can sense that when you see him, but he has always offered to answer any questions that I may have. I appreciate his skills, and that's why I would choose him again. One bad point is The clinic building where I see him. It could use a major renovation, St. Alexius Jefferson Campus Clinic.
Well, I have heard alot of good reviews about my surgeren, but i have not actualy met with him yet, I mean besides the simenare that everyone goes to. I think, if a person is going to have his hands inside o you, and you are to trust this person htan yoiu should have a meeting asap, but his office thinks other wise.
My opinion of Dr. Richardson was that he was very upfront, thorough, had a good sense of humor, easygoing and willing to answer questions. The staff is very kind, compassionate and personable. Aftercare, as I understand it, at this point is very vital and necessary. I am very understanding of this because I know things could go wrong months, or even years after the surgery of complications if you do not listen to the surgeon. He addressed the risks of surgery very well. He was brutally honest. I am anxious to meet him again for the consultation as I have only been to the seminar.
Dr. Richardson was professional and knows what he is doing. I know several who also have had him as their surgeon and felt confident in his skills. He always works with another surgeon. I was told by his staff that he and the other surgeon assist one another. He is not a chatty guy but will ask if you have questions and will always give you an answer or put you with the one who can answer your question best.
I was very impressed with Dr. Richardson. He knew what he was doing and communicated what to expect including risks and treatment, very well. I went to St. Alexian Bros. Hospital in St. Louis through the New Start program. The staff are very helpful and answered any questions. The hospital was friendly, but seemed old, and not as clean as it could have been. The nurses were very good, but I was a little concerned that the IV nurse did not wear gloves when she started my IV before surgery. The new start program encourages nutrition classes and have support classes available every month. I would recommend Mr. Richardson to anyone thinking about having the R&Y GB.
