Michael Trahan Bariatric Surgeon M.D.

Dr Trahan was the surgeon that spoke at the seminar. At that time, I could tell he was very serious but so helpful, he was thorough in explaining the surgery, the risks and everything else.
After my 1st visit with him, I was happy to know that he was what I expected.... very serious, but still someone you can ask questions and talk to.
The staff at the clinic is AWESOME... Leslie is a very helpful person, I called her my personal secretary because she was getting the job done for me... She is determined to help.
Victoria was the one who called me and told me exactly what I wanted to hear .... I was approved! She was very helpful with answering all my questions...

My first impression of Dr. Trahan was that he was a very serious person , not a lot of joking and laughing around, but straight to the point, yet very kind, and concerned that i fully understood the benefits, as well as the complication of this surgery.
His office staff are very organized, kind and friendly. Whenever I called about a problem that i was having, they took care of it promptly for me.
I like Dr. Trahan. There is nothing that i don't like about him.
In my opinion, anyone who considers using Dr. Trahans services should know that he is straight forward . He makes sure that you fully understand that this surgery is a major life changing event, and to have success, you MUST follow all of the Drs. instructions, dietician..etc..
After care is the major subject of the office visits. Due to all the serious complications which may arise.
There is a structured aftercare program. I feel that Dr. Trahan is a very caring and
competent Doctor.

Dr Traham is very knowledgable about gastric-by-pass surgery. I liked him from the first time I met him at the WM seminor. His staff is very helpfull. He and his staff listen to me. They want to be sure I follow-up after surgery. Since I live 180-miles round trip from UTMB-Galveston, they have scheduled my appointments so I don't have to make multiple trips in one month.

I liked Dr. Trahan and his staff very much. The Weight Loss Center at UTMB is very supportive.

I think, because the surgery is relatively new at UTMB, Dr. Trahan just doesn't know how to respond to all questions. All patients don't have the same post-op issues.


Dr. Trahan is very dedicated and is an excellent surgeon.

Emphasizes aftercare and has a very structured plan for aftercare.

Dr. Trahan was very honest about the risks of surgery and went over them in detail.
