Dr. Hil performed my Roux en Y on 09/29/05. He came highly recommended by a friend. She said he was "easy on the eyes" and although that is very true - it is his bedside manner and expertise that are most impressive. Since then, I have referred two other individuals to him for weight loss surgery. The care I recieved by Dr. Hill and the team at AMC was outstanding.
For the 1st two and 1/2 years I was very successful. I have regained a significant amount of weight and have moved from St. Law. County to Jefferson County. I am preparing to consult with a bariatric surgeon in Syracuse for evalution to see if a revision is needed.
I would recommend him to anyone considering WLS...
Dr. Hill is absolutely amazing. He is caring and compasionate. He is sooo upbeat! He always has a huge smile on his face and makes you feel so calm and sucure to be under his care. I am so greatful to be his patient. He preformed my surgery and after care and has always been there for any questions or concerns. A top notch surgeon.
I am now almost 3 weeks Post -Op gastric sleeve, and I cant thank Dr. Hill enough! When I was waiting to go into surgery I was so scared ( actually crying!) but once Dr.Hill came in I felt so much better, he just has a way about him that makes you very comfortable, I was sure that he would do his best to get me threw the surgery, and it went great. I have already lost over 20 lbs in not even 3 weeks! I feel so much better about myself, and I am so greatful for being able to get this done. I would recommend Dr. Hill to anyone I know who is looking to have bariatric surgery. Oh and of course I have to mention like everyone else on here, yes he is very good looking, who doesnt want a hot surgeon lol :)

I just met Dr. Hill yesterday during my last appt. before surgery. I chose Dr. Hill because he performed my sister's surgery a few years ago and she spoke highly of him. My first impression was that he's a friendly, down to earth person who is very easy to talk to and ask questions. I wasn't overly nervous, but his friendly demeanor would certainly put someone at ease. He was very thorough in going over the surgery with me and my husband and patiently answered all of our questions. I feel quite comfortable with Dr. Hill as my surgeon and I am looking forward to my surgery next week!

This will be my "pre-op" review and of course, I'll write a post-op review in a couple weeks.
Dr. Hill is amazing. My first impression? Damn... he's hot! LOL sorry! That's what it was! (he so needs to update his pic here now that he has facial hair.) Professional first impression? He's personable, makes eye contact, as a previous poster said, his smile IS contagious. He lets you ask your questions, answers every single one of them, goes over the procedure in detail and asks you why you selected the procedure you did. I gave him my reasons and we discussed why that was the right choice for me. He understood I had researched my procedure and agreed with my opinions. He also listened to my concerns with post surgery nutrition and discussed the possible solutions that I had come up with.
The office staff is great at Adirondack Medical. Everyone is personable. Linda is awesome; she cracks me up.
The only issue I had with the staff was when one Doctor (not Dr. Hill) Told me they would put my paperwork into the insurance company that day and I should hear something soon, but when I called to follow up 3 weeks later, found out she hadn't actually submitted them to the front desk to get it done... she had noted it in the file, however. It delayed things 3 weeks. Other than that, everything has gone smoothly thus far.
Dr. Hill emphasized aftercare, both nutrition and exercise. He went through a visual diagram of the procedure and explained how HE does the procedure (I had questions about what size french bougie would be used after reading other patients' stories here on OH.) He explained that he oversews and where and why. He also explained the risks of the surgery, the possible complications and how to prevent most of them.
Overall, thus far, I'd say Dr. Hill is the perfect surgeon to conduct any bariatric surgery. I know he's most definitely the right one for me. The only negative thing I could possibly say about Dr. Hill (and it's not necessarily a negative) was that I just met him, a week before my surgery. I had seen two other doctors previously, but not my actual surgeon. It would have been nice to have had the initial consultation or mid-way consultation with him so that I wasn't meeting him for the first time a week before the procedure.

The first time I seen Dr Hill he explained the surgery to me in detail, Told me what he was going to do, and what to expect ( Is very easy to talk to ). After surgery while in the hospital Dr. Hill was in my room every day to see how I was doing, and every time there was a question and the nurse would say " I will check with the Dr to see what he wants." It would be no time at all and the nurse would be back with a answer. I am very pleased with Dr. Hill and glad he is the one the did my surgery, would not have had it any other way.
