I met Dr. Wood on Feb. 13, 2002. All I can say is I've never seen a doctor smile more. He was extremely kind and pleasant. His office staff was very helpful and kind. They seem to be very quick at getting things done. Dr. Wood answered all my questions and went over every thing completely. I feel his overall rating would be a l0/l0. I also have to say the same about Dr. Medick. He is they psychiatrist who did my psych evaluation the same day. Twice a month, he works out of Dr. Wood's office and that makes it very convenient. He is very quick at getting his report in for the insurance company. I really appreciate that.
Dr. Micheal Wood is, I am convinced, the absolute best. He is kind, considerate, and a wonderful surgeon. I count him as a major blessing in my life. I am so very very glad that my insurance turned down the first choice I made. I would recommend Dr. Wood to anyone that is considering this surgery. If anyone wants to ask me about him in more detail feel free to email me at [email protected]
My first impression of Dr. Wood was as a very competent professional that really knew what he was talking about. He talked to you in plain english in terms that you could understand. He was patient with any and all questions. This opion of him as the very best has not changed one bit.
His staff is very nice - a bit over busy and short handed but, very nice and helpful.
Dr. Wood heavily heavily emphasizes aftercare. That is why he insists on a pshychological evaluation. He wants to make sure that you are prepared to do all that is required to make yourself and him a success.
Dr. Wood went over all aspects of the surgery and risks that could happen but, made you feel that he does everything to insure that these complications do not arise.
He gets 150 out of 100 rating and his bedside manner and surgical competence are both above par. although if I had to choice which I'd rather have - certianly the surgical competence!!!
I have nothing at all negative to say about Dr. Wood. However, I was very unhappy with the nursing staff at the hospital that he worked out of and have told him about the unpleasentness of the experience which he imediatly addressed!!
12/18: Met Dr. Wood. He's really nice and very informative. I think he knows what he's doing and I feel very comfortable with him. I could write a book, but it's late. :)
I have only talked to Dr. Wood's office staff so far. They faxed me the paper work and lab info ahead of time. I met with a surgeon at the BTC in Yipsilanti, MI, but I was not impressed by him in the least. I have read so many patient reviews of Dr. Wood and they are all wonderful, so I feel confident enough in him to schedule without meeting him. I will meet him next month to review my h pylori and other info.
Very professional. No kidding around (I want a serious doctor of the highest competency). Staff was professional.
Only met doctor once before surgery, 8 days before surgery. I would insist on a meeting sooner than a few weeks pre-op. I would rate Dr. Woods a 10. Explained everything very well and answered even the difficult questions (how many patients have died? Any malpractice suits pending? etc.)
My first impression of Dr.Wood was favorable. He had a easy smile, very reassuring, explained the procedure very thoroughly,he even wanted questions from me but luckily thru this site and a few wonderful patients of his- I had no questions. I had done my homework. The office staff was very nice, and seemed quite helpful. He does very much emphasize aftercare, after all- we have to uphold our part of the bargain. So he'll being seeing my goofy mug yearly for the rest of my life.Poor guy! Dr Wood clearly explain the risks of surgery, and I will highly recommend him to anybody that will listen!
WONDERFUL! Very intellegent! Good sence of humour. I was very happy with all the information he provided. He really cares about his patients.
The staff was personable and friendly. All were interested in me and how I was. We laughed and talked. I was very comfortable with them.
I would recommend Dr. wood to anyone. He is very thorough with the risks of surgery, and stated other things that could be done that were less intrusive. He also emphasized the importance of aftercare. I was handed several things to read up on, and he stessed that it is up to me to make this really work to its fullest.
I Love him! I give him a big 10 on both surgical competence and bedside manner. He has been doing this for years.
I had my consult appointment with Dr. Batay-Csorba (8/17/01). He was a very pleasant and patient doctor. He explained to me very clearly how the surgery would be done. He also requested some additional tests be accomplished before the surgery is done. He was patient and kind as he gave me as much time as I needed to ask any questions I had. Although, he was thorough enough that there were very few. He then introduced me to my patient representative, Melanie. She was a true "Sweetheart" also. The care, understanding, and compassion shone to me by Dr. Batay-Csorba and the staff was unlike anywhere I have ever been before.
