Luis Reyes Bariatric Surgeon MD, FACS, FASMBS

My first impression of Dr. Reyes was okay. I am not a patient person and I don't like waiting. I was waiting for a while for him to arrive. After meeting with him my impression changed and he was really great about what was going to happen. He has the best staff that I've ever encountered at a Dr's office. They were very pleasent and have been extremely helpful. The thing that still bothers me is that I feel he is going to make me wait at each appointment that I have with him. I'll come back and let you know how everything went.

8/23/04- I am post op now and am now SURE that I made the right decision going with Dr. Reyes! I was out of the hospital in 3 days with very minimal discomfort. My incisions are small and I am up and walking at least 20-30 minutes a day, one week after surgery. He truly cares about your aftercare. He gave me all of the resources that I asked for and needed. I would rate him a 9, and the only reason he's not a 10 is because I have to wait too long every time I go to his office.

I would highly recommend this surgeon. The office staff is very helpful and caring. This surgeon has an excellent reputation.

the best doctor I have been associated with for the last three months. before, during, and after the operation he has been very helpful, informative and asks regularly how am I feeling, if there are any problems, how can his office help me. I know it sounds too nice but he has been very helpful and I haven't encountered any problems in dealing with him or his staff. On the contrary, they are some of the nicest people I have been associated with in a very long time.

Dr. Luis Reyes is an excellent doctor. He is kind and very straight forward. I highly respect Dr. Reyes. His staff are the sweetest, most caring people. They were always so willing to help me. Dr. Reyes and staff are always reminding you about healthy eating habits. They emphasize that a lot. They have an excellent support group and everyone is very nice. To summarize Dr. Reyes and staff have been making this one of the greatest experiences of my life.

My husband and I were very impressed by him, his staff, and the manner in which he answered our dozen questions. We still appreciate him. His staff is wonderful-very understanding, encouraging, and I always get hugs there. I am now in the 2-year aftercare program, so they do care about how you do after surgery. Dr. Reyes explained very clearly about the risks involved, and what I should expect. I rate Dr. Reyes at the TOP of the list of Bariatric Surgeons in TX. Dr. Reyes gets an 'A' in all categories-surgical competence, bedside manner, etc, etc. I have no regrets, and look forward to health and longevity thanks to Dr. Reyes.

Dr. Reyes is a very caring, compassionate, and thorough physician. He answered all of my questions, explained the procedure in detail (both good and bad), and has a very good reputation amongst his patients. He has the very BEST office staff supporting him. They are always smiling, helpful, and extremely kind. They all make you feel welcome, and important. Dr. Reyes greatly emphasized aftercare and to be sure to keep all follow up appointments. I know many people that have gone through the surgery with him, and I am confident in his surgical competence.

I have only met Dr. Reyes once at my consultation. He seems knowledgable and caring. What I liked most about his was his honesty he didn't try to suger coat anything. He was up front bout the good the bad and the ugly.

In looking at my first visit with my surgeion, he seemed to be very understanding and caring. That same day he able to tell me what procedures needed to be done to have surgery.

The procedures were scheduled right away and within 2 months I was cheduled for surgery.

The problem was that after I had surgery, it became harder to get an appointment for a follow up. I was able to see him once after the surgery so that the staples would be removed. Other than that, I have been rescheduled and moved around to make room for more patients who are going to have surgery.

I had surgery in December and saw him in January. Since then, my last appointment that was due in Feb. has been cancelled and rescheduled and we are already in April.

I have resorted to seeing anther doctor to find out if I am getting the proper nutrition and vitamins.

Since January, I have not seen my doctor. I know that he has hired another doctor to help him manage the vast number of patients that are coming to his office.

Considering that it is major surgery, I am lucky that the surgery went well and that I have had no major complications.

He has an awesome personality, I felt more comfortable after I talked to him about doing this procedure.

He emphasized after care a lot with me especially since I've had bad experiences with me recovering from surgery.

Dr Reyes explained the risks of surgery real well which calmed my parents a whole bunch.

I first meet Dr. Reyes on 2-3-03 and I was impressed with him he was very informative on what I needed to know. I also knew a lot about the surgery since I had done tons of research on the surgery since I know that this was going to be my last resort there was for me since I had tried everything out there to lose weight. I was also very impressed with him and everyone in his office(Elsa,Emily,Laura,Letty) they are the nice and professional. since I live like 2 hours away I can't just go over to there office I know that I count on them and they don't get frustated with me because I call so often, Well when I need something.Overall I have had a very positive outcome with this journey.
I really thank God everyday that they are now a part of my "NEW" life
