Dr. Krause was calm, well informed, polite, and explained things in a way I could understand. I liked him from the start.

After surgery, I realize how talented and caring he is.

Dr. Krause makes sure his patients have supports in place. This means that different patients have different ways of dealing with this aspect of their care. In my case, I am working with Northpointe Health Center (Dr. Doyle). They are on 12 Mile road in Berkley, Michigan and monitor my blood work, provide nutritionist consultations, and even offer psychologists for support services. It is one of the largest medically supervised weight loss facilities and they do a great job. Dr. Doyle is conservative and made sure I tried all the avenues before surgery, but he was supportive of the surgery decision. I don't think I would have done this without his approval and encouragement. He is definately a person you can trust.

Dr. Krause (surgeon) was so highly recommended! Nurses all said he was "magical" with the scope and that he would be their first choice as a surgeon. Plus he had done many, many of these operations. After having had surgery I can laugh and tell others that Dr. Krause could laproscopically knit a cardigan inside me if he had the desire.

Having this done laprascopically worked very well for me. Dr. Krause explained the risks in full detail and also explained why he prefers the laprascopic technique. The risk of infection and infection related complications is lower and the healing time is faster.

I would rate Dr. Krause as the most talented and easy-going surgeon I have ever known. He has really changed my life and saved me from diabetes, ulcers in the esophagus, high blood pressure, etc. This man is one of the great talents in bariatric surgery.

Finally, I should say that Dr. Krause is easy to talk with and more importantly he is there for you if anything seems wrong. I had a problem after getting home and called his office. Dr. Krause called me back right away and made room for me to see him right away. I believe this took place because the doctor is patient oriented and the staff was both professional and caring. About five weeks after surgery the stoma closed up on me. Dr. Krause made sure that I had excellent care and Dr. Jury expanded the stoma. To top it all off, after my primary care doctor had trouble getting the approval for work on the stoma...Dr. Krause again went to bat for me and together with Dr. Jury got my endo re-scheduled for the same day so I did not have to wait and suffer. They even helped the insurance people understand why this was necessary which led to Blue Choice altering their position and agreeing to pay for post-surgical care and any complications at the tier 1 level.

Having a doctor with supurb surgical skills is essential, but in this case I also got a doctor I could understand and who spoke to me in plain language. I got one who cares and listens. It may sound foolish, but there are people in this life who do the work of angels...and the doctors and medical staff that have helped me are certainly on that list.

I was very lucky to have Dr. Krause as my surgeon and recommend him highly. Right now there is a substantial wait to see him as a new patient. The demand for his time and talent is tremendous but so are his abilities.

To those waiting, I guess you need to determine the risk of waiting for this level of care. If critical issues are life threatening then do what needs to be done now. But if you can wait to see Dr. Krause you will be delighted with the care he provides.

very professional and knowledgable also appeared capable and level headed. Dr. Krause has returned all my phone calls in a timely manner and does not seem rushed or irritated. His receptionist was very nice when I visited the office. She herself seemed enthused by the work he had been doing and told me she was impressed by the results she saw with people looking and feeling great post op. I asked her if he had any disgruntled patients and she said no. My only complaint is that occasionaly I have called the office during business hours and have received the answering machine. They have called me right back but it is better to talk with a live person. At other times, the staff answers the phone, so who knows. I would rate Dr. Krause very highly. He was thorough in explaining the procedure to us and provided us with a binder of information to review at home about post op expectations. I have tried to be as informed as possible and have contacted anyone I could find who had this procedure done by Dr. Krause and must say that I have only heard excellent reviews. Also, to anyone considering having this surgery he is the most ethical doctor I have ever met and definately the one I would choose. Furthermore, he has a nurse educator named Michele who is completely dedicated and just an amazing person. I was plagued with anxiety about this surgery and she offered to come in the morning of it to literally hold my hand at 6am on her DAY OFF because she so believes in Dr. Krause and her work. You don't find Dr.s and nurses with that much heart every day. Their level of compassion and commitment surpassed all of my expectations.

I met with Dr. Krause on June 17th. My first impression of him is wow is he young, but once he started to go over the surgery I knew he was very knowledgeable in WLS. I also felt he was very competent to perform the surgery laproscopically. He also worked with me to schedule my surgery early enough for me to get back to college in time for the fall semester, which I really appreciated.

My first impression of Dr. Krause was/is that he is a very very nice and caring doctor. I was very very impressed by his upbeat manner and his positive attitude in the whole surgery including the work of getting my insurance to accept the charges. It actually seemed to me like he would not take the word "no" very lightly. I would recommend him to anyone in the area. I would say that his bedside manner and his surgical competence are both very evry good

I had the pleasure to meet with Dr Krause on 4/15/02 and he is WONDERFUL!!! He was very kind and considerate to my family and I for which we came a long distance to meet with him. He was well worth the drive and I would recommend to anyone to meet with him they are considering surgery. Dr Krause was very informative and was very conscience about getting across to me the importance of and seriousness of this surgery. I came away from my meeting feeling very confident I had made the right choice in choosing him for my surgeon. He is young accomplished Dr with an added bonus of being personable and caring. You can't get better then that when looking for a Dr. I am looking forward to my surgery which is scheduled for 6/11/02. As far as saying anything negative about Dr Krause or his staff I don't have not one word. He's a blessing and a breath of fresh air compared to some surgeons I have researched. Thank you Dr Krause for just being you!!

I haven't met with Dr. Krause yet but I am looking forward to it. My appt. for a consultation is June 15,2002, I have a lot of documentation and a referal from my regular M.D. I had a psyche evaluation a year ago so I think I have everything I need. I finally have a new insurance that will pay for the surgery. I"m ready I hope this meeting goes well. I"ll keep you informed!

I chose Dr. Krause because of his credentials. I am a nurse and am very familiar with the reputaion of the hospitals he has trained at. I have not seen him yet but have spoken to him via e-mail and telephone. I was so shocked that he actually took time our of his busy schedule to e-mail me with answers to my questions. When I called the office his secreatry put him on the line. I couldn't beleive I was actually speaking to the doctor.
My first and 2nd impression is that this is a very caring dr. From the answers to my questions I feel that he is also very knowledgable and up to date on the latest trend in medicine.
He is worth the long wait to see him.

I met with Dr. Krause for my consultation 03/29/02. I already felt I knew him from all the communication I've had with him via the net. He is great. I have never in my life had a Dr. follow up on phone calls and emails so promptly. I feel he is compassionate and sincere. I hope I get approved. I was undecided as to whether I really wanted the procedure until I met with him. I feel very confident in his abilities. He explained all the details, took all the time I needed with questions and even discussed stategy for approval to my sister who accompanied me to the consultation. I just wish he didn't look 12 years old! The only negative thing I have to offer is that he sent me for my Physc eval and physical exam to Doc that my insurance will not cover.
