He was wonderful. Made me feel relaxed. He made sure I was taken care of in the hospital. I asked him if I needed to stay 1 more day in the hospital would it be OK. He said he didn't see why not. I really like his staff and his practice. They are all so helpful. I attended 2 Pre-Op classes before surgery. I found these to be very helpful and well informed. These are my personal experiences only and that I am making no statements about what other people may experience.
Dr. Sasse is friendly, accepting and helpful. He made me comfortable right from the start. In fact the entire office staff made me feel welcome and showed interest in me. WBI has an excellent program to help you decide on surgery, they provided plenty of information to make a decision, and the follow-up program is excellent. The office staff helped me in each step from information to insurance coverage. The encouragement I have received from both Dr. Sasse and his staff has been impressive.
I chose Dr. Sasse as my surgeon after reading several of his books. I realize from then that this was a doctor who has his patient at heart, and I found this to be true.
The only negative comments I have on my surgery was with the hospital facility, Dr. Sasse was the greatest.
Upon meeting Dr. Sasse he is soft spoken and listens to what the patient has to say. I told him I had the lap band since 2006 with no success and that I would like rouy-n-y
bypass, he explained there were steps to be taken and that would determine if I was a candidate,(I had insurance approval already).I believe after a doctor does a surgery such as this, there will always be a gratefullness and an appreciation of him for life. His office staff is awesome, and so upbeat, enjoy them all. I can't think of anything I liked least. I have been telling friends and recommending Dr. Sasse to them, I appreciate all the training and preparation that is required. Aftercare, GREAT, I had a list of questions, then he had questions for me and I have his book and read it all the time. My classes and the Dr. explained all the risks. Everything is structured, awesome. I give Dr. Sasse and A+, he even called to tell us he would be 15 minutes late for surgery. I believe surgical competence and bedside manner go hand in hand, who wants a noncaring surgeon. I really believe when I had the lap band done it was a lack of structure that made me fail,(done in Tijuana). I am so gratefull and happy to have had the opportunity to finally succeed and hopefully keep my weight off for life. Thank you to the team of Western Bariactricand Renown South. Angie Sturr
My best friend and I have been on this journey together since day one. We have both been fortunate and greatful to have Dr. Sasse as our surgeon. Dr Sasse is a lap band celebrity, his knowledge and genuine attitude is truly amazing. The staff is wonderful, always motivating and helpful in everyway possible.
I had my surgery 12-2-09 and I had no problems however before surgery I had lost 30 lbs and since surgery I have lost almost another 30 lbs.
I am really not hungry and I no longer have craving for Chocolate, which was my biggest problem.
I always have a Protein drink for breakfast and a Protein bar for lunch with a fruit, when I can remember, for my morning and afternoon snack.
Dinner is meat, fish or chicken with salad or vegetable and a 100 calorie snack for a nighttime snack.
I am so happy that I had the surgery because it has improved my health and I have been able to reduce my medication.
When I go for my monthly visits I see Jared Brandt and I am very happy with him. He takes the time to explain what he is doing and asks how I am doing and when he does an adjustment he makes sure that I have no problem drinking.
I am so happy with the surgeon I picked and his staff makes it a pleasure to go into the office. Everyone is very professional and helpful.
I would strongly recommend Western Bariatric to anyone interested in losing weight and keeping it off.
I have to say that Dr. Sasse has got to be one of the kindest and most caring doctors that I have ever encountered. I was having severe complications from a vertical banded gastroplasty that had been performed 16 years ago. He suggested that we convert to a gastric bypass, I really didnt want to mess with my body anymore than I actually already had, so he came up with a surgery to cut out the flaccid muscles, scar tissue, staples and silocone ring, and reconnect my health stomach into the most "normal" stomach that I could have. It has been 4 weeks since he reconstucted my stomach and I am so grateful to him for listening to me and giving me what I wanted. The whole process was terrifying, and he made it so much easier with his calmness and confidence in fixing my situation. I couldnt rate him any higher. The one thing I would say to future patients is that you do have to wait a while in the waiting room but, it is worth it because he spends the time with you that you need and doesnt have his hand on the door trying to get to the next patient. I appreciated all the time he spent with me, so waiting I realized he spends that time with all of his patients. I also had a very hard time getting to talk to a person when I called, I had to leave messages, which was annoying when I really needed to talk to someone. Overall you couldnt ask for a better surgeon!!
Dr.Sasse is a very warm, friendly and knowledgable proffesional. The office staff is also friendly and they work very hard to help you achieve your goals. I would recommend Dr.Sasse to anyone and could not have asked for better care. I have just started on my journey to being a healthier person but I know that Dr.Sasse will be there the whole way with me.
I could not have asked for a better doctor/surgeon and staff!!! I found Dr. Sasse to be personable, respectful and very knowledgeable and professional. He has treated my obesity as a medical problem that needed to be solved. It has been well over a month since I had my Roux-EN-Y-Gastric Bypass surgery performed by Dr. Sasse and I am very pleased with my progress! Dr. Sasse and his staff have proven to be –partners- in my weight loss victories. Dr. Sasse and staff are accountable for their part and they are serious about me following through with my part. In order to succeed, both must do our parts. Aftercare is made high priority with Dr. Sasse and staff. The Support group has been a tremendous help. I strongly believe that Kent Sasse, M.D. and staff genuinely want me and their other patients to succeed! I feel like I've got a second chance at life! Thank you Dr. Sasse and staff.

my first impression of Dr.Sasse was the manner in which he presented himself. He had confidence in me than I did at first and he didn't even know me yet. When Dr. Sasse spoke he made me feel like I could do anything to make it to my goals and so far I am right on track. The office staff is great. They all know you by your first name and they always have a great big smile waiting for you, they are kind and gentle and understanding.( I think that they got it from Dr. Sasse!!)If you want to lose weight and you are serious about it you should really go to Dr. Sasse the man with the huge heart, someone you can talk to and not talk at you, one who has trust in you( the patient)and he knows what he is doing. Dr.Sasse does emphasize in aftercare and not just about the surgery, but the person.Aftercare is very important to him and for all of his patients. There is a aftercare program and you must do everything that is asked of you, if not you can only blame yourself, the Dr. is there to help us help ourselves. He addressed the surgery as serious. And he discussed the pros and cons of surgery, leaving nothing out and answering all questions. If I had to give Dr. Sasse a grade I would have to give him a 200 0/0.To me both the surgical competence and his bedside manner are both great. I can not anything but good things about Dr. Sasse, he is the way all doctor's should be.
