A Great Surgeon and a wonderful Doctor.
My impression never changed. It just got better.
The office staff are just wonderful. Debbie takes care of all scheduling of surgeries and gets the insurance approval. Patty is his nurse. Robin is his receptionist. Kim is his patient liason.
What I like best about Dr. Warnock is that he knows what obesity is. He feels for his patients. He has never had the problem of obesity. He relates very much with empathy
toward his patients.
I don't have any dislikes with him or his staff.
He goes over aftercare before surgery and after, to be sure that the patient knows what is expected of them and the surgery.
He has a booklet about aftercare, which goes over what he has talked about earlier.
I knew most of the risks as my daughter had the surgery 5 months before me.I would rate him with 95% as no one is perfect but he comes very close. I think surgical competence and bedside manner are both great.
Dr. Warnock of Wichita Falls, Tx. Is the kindest most down to earth doctor I have ever found. He kneeled down in front of my daughter and I and explained everything in detail. I found him to be very honest and my opinion never waivered. My daughter had the surgery first. She went thru the surgery just fine but two weeks later a bloodclot hit her spleen. She had to undergo more surgery. Then another bloodclot was found in her juglar vein, and she also ended up with a flesh eating disease. So she had to be in a hyperbaric chamber twice a day for 22 days.
She is doing fine now and has lost 154lbs. She didn't start with Dr. Warnock but went to and Army Base. then she transferred to Dr. Warnock.
His office staff is so friendly and go out of their way to make you comfortable.
Dr. Warnock is a christian man. He loves each patient as a brother or sister. He is ver conscious of the weight problem each of us have and is very sympathetic. He has us on an exercise program after the surgery. Also has a guideline for us to go by.
I will say that when I first met Dr. Warnock I wanted to cry. He seemed so caring and compassionate. I felt so ashamed that I had allowed myself to be so overweight and have to be seeing a surgeon to do something about it. He was so kind he let me know that me being overweight wasnt from laziness or other thoughts that I had streaming through my head but that it was a disease and he could give me a tool to help make myself healthier or I could abuse it that would be my choice. He also let me know right up front the risks of the surgery and asked me to pray about having it done and not just a small prayer but to pray until I found peace that this is what God would have in store for me. I found that so amazing..... a Dr. who believed in God and his love and his PEACE that passeth all understanding. Little did he know that God had given me his peace when he sent me to such a wonderful and caring christian surgeon. I feel very blessed to have Dr. Warnock operating on me. I would recomend him to anyone looking to have this surgery...!!!!!!
MARCH14TH...... Had my surgery on Friday March 9th All I can say is Dr. Warnock is the greatest. He was so kind to me and the staff at 11th st. Campus Hospital was awesome. So everything I felt about him before surgery has become a reality He is the greatest!!!!!!!!
12-21-2000 Well I met Dr. Warnock, and I was very impressed with his bedside manner, his information. It was a 4 hour drive for me and I took my 9 year old son. Dr. Warnock gave him a pack of Rolo's back in the exam room. I thought it was funny a Doctor handing out candy. Anyway it kept the kid quiet while he explained for about 40 inutes the pros, con's the possible complications and te fact that this was a tool not an answer. He stresses the fact that its not all downhill after the surgery.
I found a surgeon that is a preferred provider for my insurance, I called and got an appt set for 12-21-00, I already have all pre-op work done, so hopefully I should be able to get a surgery date soon.
His office staff was very friendly, and informative.I will give more info after my appt.
My first impresson of Dr. Warnock was an answer to prayers. My first impression has stayed with me the entire time. He CARES about his patients. He looks you in the eye and answers and encourages the spouse to take part. He doesn't lecture you that were dumb in the first place to be in this position. Debbie, and the rest of his staff are WONDERFUL and helpful and informative. There isn't a thing a disliked about Dr. Warnock or his office at all. Future patients need to know his convictions are strong on no smoking (I didn't smoke but I've counseled others). He believes this is a tool to lose weight and you still need to exercise. He cares before, during and after the surgery. I had the surgery 6/28/99 and would do it again tomorrow. When I thought I developed a hernia I called and made an appointment. He did the hernia repair and tummy tuck at same time. Dr. Warnock truly cares about his patients and that caring shows. I would highly recommend him for any person considering the surgery. I've talked to many of his former patients and he has done this procedure for over 15 years. He doesn't factory you ... he takes the time to care for you as a person not just a number. Do I have any negative thing to say? Nope. He gently rebuked me because I DID NOT call his office at 4am when I was having a reaction. He got made because I waited till office hours. How unusual! I've thanked the Lord for Dr. Warnock and I would describe him the same way as I've read above ... A Doctor Who Wears Cowboy Boots Who Have A Place In Heaven!
Dr.Warnock seemed very nice.He sat and talked to my mother and I for well over an hour.I had an entire list of questions to ask him,but didn't even get a chance to because he explained everything so well. His staff seemed nice,we will see how it goes...they are submitting my insurance info this week,so my opinion may change. He is a nice christian man that told me I need to consider this surgery carefully and to prepare for it prayerfully.I thought that was an awesome thing to say.He explained the risks of surgery,he also explained the risks of living my life as a morbidly obese woman.I would rate him an 8 on a scale of 1 - 10.
I was given Dr. Warnock's name by my insurance company (Tricare) because he was the nearest network provider who performed the RNY bypass. When I made the initial call to his office, they gave the name of a former patient in my area that could talk to me about her experience with the surgery. The way she carried on about how wonderful he was, I almost wondered if he was paying her to say all that. Then I met him...wow. What a kind and compassionate doctor! He was the first doctor that did not make me feel like I was just a few dollars added to his bottom line. He took a lot of time with me. He actually looked me in the face. He is truly committed to helping his patients get their life back again. I would recommend him in a heartbeat. His staff was great too. Debbie got my consult sent off within two days and I was approved immediately.
Dr. Warnock seems to be a very kind and caring man. I was very pleased at how sincere and honest he was. He also seems to be a very capable surgeon. He is very strict, however. He has a lot of rules you are supposed to follow. For example, he does not want you to smoke or drink or eat things that are not good for you. He has griped at me constantly about drinking cokes and eating chips. He did a very good job on my surgery though.
I have met Dr. Warnock once and was extremely happy with him, he explained everything to me and was very caring and understanding. He explained that he understood that obesity is a disease. He introduced me to his office person, Debbie and she got the ball rolling. I have talked to Debbie two or three times, with questions and she has never seemed upset about answering them. I go for my last visit before surgery on Monday the 30th of Sept. and I have my surgery on Nov. 2, 2000. I will come back then and finish what my experiences were.
