Keith Millikan Bariatric Surgeon M.D.

Dr.Millikan is a warm, friendly, but very honest and professional surgeon. As a surgical nurse, I did not require alot of hand holding and gentleness, however he was patient and thorough at our consultation. His office staff is warm, professional and helpful. No matter how many time I had to call them prior to the surgery, they were always willing to answer my questions and not rush me off the phone.

My first impression of Dr. Millikan was that he was very professional, intelligent, polite and direct. After getting my weight and height and reviewing them as well as my history of weight-loss attempts. He told me he would do the surgery and explained to me the risks of surgery and the success of this surgery. He has a solid surgical history and has done numerous open and lap procedures. Each department I went to; dietary, ultrasound, radiology, psychology and pulmonary all spoke so very highly of Dr. Millikan and told me I have chosen one of the best surgeons on the Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke staff. I will be followed up not only by him but also the dietary and psychology department. His a 10 on this side of the surgery...
Lisa, his assistant is great...she took care of all the insurance stuff and told me not to worry about the approval. Boy was she so right...the insurance rep called me at my office and told me that the surgery was approved and that this was the most well prepared file they've received for approval for Bariatric Surgery. Wow.

I had problems with my insurance and had to change doctors at the last minute in order to have my surgery done. So I found Dr. Millikan. I had my consultation with him today, Dec.5,2002. His office was very Busy 8 different Dr.'s, but his staff was very pleasant. And Lisa was very helpful even before I got there. I knew all of the tests I needed done and they were completed upon my arrival, plus they had mailed me a new patient questionaire packet which was very nice and helpful it was completed also.My first impression of Dr. Milikan was very positive he came in with a smile despite how busy he apparently was, as I get closer to surgery date Dec.27 I will be able to give more info on the good doctor he got me a date before the end of the year which I couldnt get anywhere else so far he's alright with me.

Dr. Keith Millikan is a very nice surgeon, as i got to know him, he was very detailed about the surgery made me feel very comfortable. he has a great staff, very caring i like him,he's the best, he stress the point of keeping in contact with my nutritonist he has a good aftercare program, he informed me of everything after surgery. i would rate him on a scale from 1-10 a 10.

Dr Millikan was referred to me by a friend, an RN, who has worked with him. I was previously going with Dr. Madura, but was anxious about some red flags that went up by him and his staff. Dr Millikan is very open about his open peocedure and his willingness to be honest was very much appreciated. His standard of care is excellent and your second meeting with him requires a support person to accompany you. My Mom was impressed with him and his secretary, Brice, a very bright, "on top of things" young lady. The mortality rate and side affects were discussed with myself and my support person and Dr. Millikan wanted to hear about our family's coping strategies. At Rush the pychologist mentioned that they are trying to get together a support group, but it hasn't worked out yet. Dr. Millikan had called personally asking various questions of me and his hands on very detailed approach is very valuable to me as a patient.
