Dr. Sosa is really nice and always just waiting for you to ask him any questions you might have. He does not give you the run around and he tells it like it is. His office staff is wonderful. The aftercare program they have is a little expensive but it is completely worth it. He emphasizes in the aftercare program and he is very agressive when it comes to participating in an aftercare program. That to me just shows me how much he cares about his patients and their final results. And that also shows me that he takes pride in what he does, which is a great quality. Hopefully now my insurance co. agrees with the doctors decision that I qualify for surgery and need it.

He was exremely inforative, professional and to the point. I feel that although he has many patients within his practice that his response time to questions that I had post-op was amazing!

I researched Dr. Sosa's ercord for almost two years and within his years of perfroming Bariatric Surgery he has not lost a patient (Thank God). His staff and himself follow up on you consistently. The aftercare program is intense but well worth it.

I would rate Dr. Sosa a 10. As for bedside manner anyone who goes through surgery always feels a need to be catered to and Dr. Sosa is blunt but nice but surgical competence is what keeps you alive..

My first impression of Dr. Sosa was of someone pleasant, approachable, no-nonsense, direct. Have not known him long enough for impression to change. His office staff is very nice and accommodating. Dr. Sosa is adamant about aftercare. He insists on his patients showing proof of gym membership before he will operate. You can use his facility or any other that you choose. He is very forthright about the need for lifestyle change along with the surgical intervention. He freely discusses risks and does not minimize the fact that this is serious surgery. I rate him very highly because of all the above. I was told by a patient of his who had a complication that he never left her side that day. I will be a challenge because of a previous abdominal surgery. He made sure to have me scheduled alone that day so he has no other distractions. I really appreciate that.

MY first impression of Dr. Sosa was.....
"WOW" he's serious about what he does. I thought that he was very informative and helpful. I met with Dr. Sosa in his office on 10/14/04. He abnswered allof my questions and my husbands questions HE IS WONDERFUL....

The office staff was excellent helpful, Especially Yanet..... I would call her everyday with a new question and she answeres them with out hesitation... Thank you

Anyone who is considering surgery should know that Dr. Sosa would be an excellent choice.

Dr. Sosa is very strict about aftercare. He will not perform the surgery unless you have a nutritionist and a contract with a gym.

I went with my wife to the orientaion meeting at his office in Hialeah. I had been to other orientation meetings and This was a small turnout by comparison. The only thing I could think of was that there was a hurricane comming our way and people had other things to tend to. So the meeting started with only 4 or 5 people there(worked for me..less stress if you are bashful). In comes Dr. Sosa and give his speach and then opens it up for Q/A...He comes across as a nice person, who is very sure of his abilities...I like that ALOT! Then he goes into the FACTS>>>the real FACTS!! As with almost everything in life there are risks involved. His results are pretty darned impressive.
After the meeting is over I put him to my first test....will he give me a quick one on one meeting even though I have not commited to his program. He does and talks to me and my wife for 10 minutes or so right there on the spot. I let him know that I will be a self-pay and I go ahead and make my initial consultation appointment. We are rockin now! All of this was in the last week of Sept. I am going into surgery tomm. October 6. Total wait time was 3 weeks or so....not too shabby.
It is imperative that if you commit to this procedure you keep all your appointments and follow the schedule you are given...if you do all will go smoothly. heck I cant wait to get to their gym to tart workin out....6 more weeks, but I can wait. Overall...these folks have been great. Dr.Sosa,Yanet,Vanessa and others have been really great so far. I will follow up later with a post-op report on them and the hospital....

My first impression of Dr. Sosa was that he was down to earth and funny. He answered all questions and I especially liked that he was able to provide me with statistics of his mortality and complication rate. Everyone in his office has been very helpful and informative. I think the only pet peeve that I have is the fact that you have to pay for a gym membership and a nutritionist but when you weigh the pros and cons it seems worth it because if you are going to do something as drastic as weight loss surgery you might as well do it right. I also liked that he seemed as though he wasn't trying to sell me to try to get the surgery or use him as a doctor. The first thing he said was that you have to be willing to die to have this surgery because the threat is very real. All in all I think he is a very informative, competent doctor.

When I first met Dr. Sosa i found him to be VERY straight foward. I also noticed he was very firm in what he expects from his patients both before and after the surgery! Which I truly appreciated. And his staff really knows how to treat people. They make you feel welcomed. Dr. Sosa has a awsome after care program.

I first went to Dr. Sosa's seminar. My mother and I were extremely impressed by him. Dr. Sosa is very confident, which in my eyes is very good. He knows what he is doing & what he is talking about. His seminar was very thorough. His complication percentages are lower than the national average (which was a big relief). At my consultation, we got to talk more and he answered all my questions. Dr Sosa will not do the surgery unless you promise & already have post op care set up. He wanted proof two weeks before that you met with a dietician who you see for a year, and gym membership for a year. This showed me that he wasn't just about doing the surgery only. He cares for his patients and wants the only best outcome in the long run for them. His office staff is wonderful. They are friendly, caring & just great.

I first went to Dr. Sosa sometime last year around September. I attended one of his seminars and was very impressed. I gained a lot of knowledge and was happy that he explained extensively the pros and cons of surgery. He is very approachable and seems to be very concerned with the long term results of the surgery. One of the things he requires is the post op program at the New Life center. I already had my appointment with them and cannot be happier that everyone both at the fitness center and Dr. Sosa's office have been very nice and comforting. Dr. Sosa also has a great assistant Yanet who takes care of appointments and insurance. She was able to explain to me the different options for getting the surgery payed for making it easy to see that it would not be impossible.
