Jorge Rodriguez Bariatric Surgeon M.D.,F.A.C.S.

Dr. Rodriguez is one of the few people I trusted from the start! He maid it so easy to talk to him that after the first visit with him I was ready for the surgery. My impression about him did not change at all. He is always there when I need him. His staff is O.K. I mean they are doing there job. But I realy did not get as close to them as I did with the doctor.
That he is a very nice person. He listtens to you and your needs. He makes sure that you know all your stuff and he showed me videos about all that stuff. He tolled me about the Pros & Cons about the surgery. He also tolled me that with the surgery comes risk,but there are risks with evry medical proceedure. Dr. Rodriguez is the miracle I was waiting for. I have been overweight for years and he helped me to live a better live. I do not have anything bad to say about him.
The only bad experiance I had was his answering service. They did not relate messages I left.Other than that my overall experiance was great.

His office wasn't as busy as I expected,but I was told it had just settled down from earlier.The Doc was very straight forward about the risks,and aswered my questions without hesitation.To date 4/16/03 he hasn't lost any patients.He doesn't do Lap-Rny,he feels the open is safer,and the incision is small(6" or less).He really is concerned about after care.His nurse Rita was great!!

I believe I had the Best surgeon in the world. He is a truly caring and down to earth, and he is a superior medical professional. He is straight forward and knowledgable. He and his staff work hard to make the patient feel comfortable.I had some complications after surgry that were not related to my RNY surgery. Because Dr. R is a top notch emergency surgeon and because he made sure he and his staff never became complacent, I truly believe Dr. R and the staff at U of L saved my life. I have much to be thankful for.
Dr. R stresses how important it is to follow his aftercare orders which are so important. He pulled no punches when it came to addressing surgry risks, yet, he emphasized that he would do his very best during surgery and would be close by to take care of me for the critical hours after surgery.
Dr. R. is so easy to talk to and he actually listened to my concerns and questions. In my book he and his staff are #1. I believe he is the best!!!

Dr. Rodriquez is the sweetest doc I've ever met. He takes the time to let you know exactly whats up and what to expect. I would reccommend him to everyone! The office is really busy though.

I think Dr. Rodriquez is very caring and very professional , I absolutely loved him from the beginning and he is still unbelievable ....His staff is very nice and helpful

He is very personable, eassy to talk to and has a great personality. My impression of dr. J has not changed. His office staff are over worked, and it is a challenge to contact them. Dr. J is always on the go, He will sit down and talk to you and hold your hand, but if every thing is okay he is in and out. The daay of my surgery I was informend by him that i would have the open gastric bypass instead of thee lap procedure. I was devastateed, but Dr J reassured me that ,y incision wold be small and that this would be the safest procedure. He was correct, thte incision was small, I did not have a lot of gas pain, and my recvery was pretty good.

I really like Dr. Rodriquez, he is a people person, with good bed side manner. I am getting a little concerned that he is getting too many patients. You usually have to wait over an hour for an appointment.
I don't believe their is any aftercare except for office visits.
I would recomend him as a dr.
I have had to go back and have a scope done to stretch the opening from my stomach to my intestins and might have to have it done again. I get sick usually on a daily basis.

I met with Dr. Rodriguez for the first time yesterday. He was really informative and we discussed the ins and outs of my choice for surgery. He was really quick with answers which made me feel really good, because if a doctor has to hesitate around about telling you what he will be performing that always scares me. I like it when they can answer in a quickly manner and yet answer all my questions that I had. The staff was really nice especially Reta, she is really a sweet lady. I would recommend him for anyone. His credentials are: Professor, University of Louisville School of Medicine University of Virginia. His special areas of interest : Trauma/Surgical Critical Care, Laparoscopic Surgery, Bariatric Surgery

Well I am now post op and would like to let everyone know that Dr. Rodriguez is great. I love him, he has the best bed side manner that I have seen in a long time. He saw my husband in the cafeteria the next morning after surgery and even talked to him and that is really personable I think. You cannot get any better than that. I would and will recommend him to anyone. I give him a A++++++++++++++++++++++++++. He also goes over everything from beginning to end more than once to make sure you understand and to make sure if you have any questions to please ask.

He is the best!!He cares about his patients.
Everytime I see him he aways takes time with you. A friend of mine had the r&y. He did the procedure she was afraid she had an infection. He came in on his day off just to check her!
I myself was a very high risk patient. He told me right off the bat that I was, but if I wanted to take a chance He would do his best. I wanted the r&y, but he did think I could have that with my health problems. So he ask me if I would concider the lap band. He explained everything to me about both surgery's and helped me to make a choice. His bedside manor is great. when he is talking to you he explains so you can understand everything.I would recomend him to anyone. His staff is wonderful too.
The aftercare has been great. I get my first weigh-in Jan8 I can't wait.

I absolutely love Dr Rodriguez. I was told that it would take forever to get this surgery done BUT the longest wait so has been the appointment to see the Dr. He explains things and he's not in too big of a hurry to talk even though he has a lot of patients. His staff is very friendly and involved in your experience all the way.Dr Rodriguez makes sure that you know what you are doing and that if anything goes wrong (which could happen as we all know) that he will be there to take of it. Actually I dont belive there is a thing that I dont like about the Dr and his staff and I would recomened anyone to go to him because he is a down to earth man and enjoys making people healthy again.
