Dr Z is a great guy, and has been very acomidating(my sister and I both are geeting RNY). Cindy, deb and the rest of the staff are also great. He is making me get a cpap first (which thanks to a very helpful support staff my insurance is going to pay for all of). At this point I would give Dr Z a solid 10 out of 10.
Dr. Z is a very high engery guy. He is very straight forward and tells it like it is. He lets you know up front that you still have to work at this. The surgery is a tool that we have been given, but we still have to work to reach our goals. His office staff is wonderful. Every body in the office is upbeat and very helpful. They have in place all the tool that you need to suceed all you have to do is to put the effort in to it. Every thing was explained to me several times. You know what to expect along the way at every step. I would rate Dr. Z as excellent. And as for which is better surgical competence or bedside manner. Well as a health care worker my self I can tell you if you bedside manner sucks you will not be able to instill confidence in your patients. So the chance of operating on me are not good.rnThe only thing that I feel could be better would be a better exercise program.
I have nothing negative at all to say about my experience with my doctor. Everything from the open house to the first doctor visit was nothing but pleasant and satisfactory. Dr. Zografakis has a great sense of humor makes you laugh and very caring person. The office staff is very pleasant and caring and they give you all the information you need to be successful. Future patients should know that Dr. Zografakis expects you to follow the guidelines to be successful. Aftercare is very very important to them they are in touch with you for the first month every week then every two weeks then a month they encourage you to call with whatever questions you may have about nutrition or any other questions. They are very honest about the risks of surgery and how different body types have different risks. Overall my rating of my experience with my doctor and his office staff was excellent.rnActually to find a doctor that has the surgical competence and bedside manner all in one is a rare find. Trust me I have run across doctor's that once they specialize in their area they have an arrogance about them and sometimes it is very hard to talk to them after surgery and any problems you may be having.rnThis doctor does not have this he has a kind soul and heart.rnThanks for giving me my life back.....My 10 month old son will definitely reap the benefits having my around to run and play.
Dr. Zog is awesome. I learned of him when I worked for his answering service. He genuinely cares about his patients, I know this first hand. The whole staff (Bev) is awesome! They have held my hand the whole time and I love them all for it. If there is anything I can say about Dr. Z it is that he is committed to doing everything possible to ensure the peace of mind of his patients.
My physician is Dr. John Zografakis (Dr. Z). He was very easy to talk with in my first visit. He explained the process and risks. He was very straight forward. No candy coating. His staff is amazing. They are all very friendly and helpful. His office tailors to the requirements of your insurance company. I have Aetna insurance. rnCindy, at the front desk always greets you with a smile and makes you feel comfortable. Billie is very encouraging and wonderful, she makes all of your pre surgical appointments. Bev takes care of the insurance and finances, she keeps you informed of all of the processes that the insurance requires. Deb and Robin work with your diet and exercise program, they are both very helpful and encouraging. They are all wonderful.rn My primary care provider refused to refer me for this surgery! He is of a mindset that if you go home and eat 1200 calories and exercise, you can lose the weight. As if it were that easy! Dr. Z also has a physician that can do all of the pre approval insurance requirements if your PCP is uncooperative. rnDr. Z and his staff emphasize that this is not an easy way out and that it is a major lifestyle change. They will continue to be there through the surgery and all of the aftercare. They have a topnotch program to help you succeed. rnThe only negative thing that I experienced was the scheduling of my appointments. I work and therefore do not have a very flexible schedule. I had to take a lot of time off work to make these appointments. Some weeks, I would have 2-3 appointments. It would be much easier if we could have discussed the scheduling of appointments. They were all scheduled rather quickly. rn
Dr. Z and Staff are very informative about the surgery - before and after, too. The staff was very friendly and helpful. All questions were answered and my concerns were put at ease. I have been out one month since surgery (post-op). I am doing very well. I haven't regretted my decision to have the surgery performed. I highly recommend Dr. Z. rnSix weeks out still doing fine. Getting strongerrnby the day. Walking every day and feeling greatrnI'm down about 92lbs. went from size 50 to size 44 already. Clothes in my closet for a long time that I thought I would never get back into. I would like to thank again Dr. Z and staff for doing and caring so much. And the tools to make my life better \"thanks \" rnWell out 3 months lost \"117lbs\" so far just can't belive it. about to drop another pant size. Feeling great better then I had in a long time. \" Dr. Z and the whole staff are number one in my book\". .
I don't think I could have found a better surgeon than Dr. Z if I had searched the world over. His competence and bedside manner are equal to his sense of humor, which to me is very important. I had researched many programs before choosing Dr. Z. His program, which includeds pre-op and post-op care. The team he works with is also great. His medical assistant, Billi, came to see me at the hospital after surgery. She is so nice. Debi, the case manager, was also great.rnrnThe care you receive after surgery is just as great to that you get pre-op. I did miss my 3 month check up but I catch up with him for my 6 month.rnrnI have and will continue to recommend Dr.Z's program to everyone I speak to.rnrnPS. I have lost 70 lbs and feel great. I have had no complications but I have also done everything he says.
Dr. Z was very friendly and put me at ease immediately. He's full of energy and so easy to talk to. He was thorough in explaining everything that will happen. I was prepared to be defensive in wanting this operation, but I immediately realized he was nothing but supportive. He gave me hope. His office staff is so friendly and nice. They made me feel welcome everytime I was there. I had to go through a 3 month weight loss program (due to insurance) and lots of testing. They have a 3 hour required session that reviews every little detail of the surgery, foods, feelings, aftercare, etc. and it is all put in a nice notebook for you to take home.
