Dr Lambert seems like a great doctor. He is caring and compassionate. He is cautious and does all the tests he needs to safely perform the surgery.

His staff is great. Especially Betty who runs the program. I feel very secure in putting my life in his hands.

I liked Dr. Lambert from the start. He made me feel very comfortable. Dr. Lambert has a great sense of humor. He is very human. I see him every month at our group meetings and I have more respect for him each time. He truly cares about people who are obese. He really wants to help. He is there for us anytime we need him. I even called his home crying from being in so much pain when I came home from the hospital and he was very compassionate. He and I had an agreement before surgery. I take 2 Vicodin ES a day and would need something stronger for the pain. Well on the 2nd day his nurse Jerri refused to let me have anymore Demerol. Apparently she didn't know about our aggreement. She is nice but doesn't have any compassion when it comes to being in pain...sorry Jerri :) Betty who handles everything has been great. Always answers our questions, and does her best to help anyway she can. I like the fact that he didn't sugarcoat the situation. He was very serious about the risks. And didn't promise me a miracle. I really appreciated his honesty. He has both surgical competence and bedside manners. I had a Lap but when he attached my small intestine to the pouch there wasn't adequete blood flow, so he had to do open. But he told me this could happen. I would recommend him to anyone. I trust him that much. No doctor is perfect, but I would let him do surgery on me again without hesitation if needed.

I met Dr. Lambert only once. He seems to be a nice person and a competent surgeon. My insurance papers got sent to the wrong dept where nothing was done, but I
gave Betty the correct address and I now have ins approval. My surgery is 9-29-03 if the pre op tests go okay. I will update later.

Dr. Lambert is a very caring person. He wants everyone to know that this is a life long decision and that you must be willing to do all that is required after the surgery. You just can't sit and expect the weight to disappear. He also wants all to attend the monthly support meetings, of which he always attends, unlike other doctors. He knows what he is doing and has an extensive program for all before and after surgery. I have mainly spoken with Betty in the office and she is very nice and knowledgable in all of the proceedures.I am very happy with Dr. Lambert and all of his staff and would recomend him to everyone. I have all of my pre-op tests scheduled and my finale interview with Dr. Lambert is scheduled for Oct. 20 and surgery a week later. I can't wait.

My first impression of him was both a great relief to see the type person he was, and a comfort to know he was so well respected not in just this type surgery, but all other types also.

His surgical coordinator Betty is wonderful, and so helpful and full of information. I understood everything, and felt that she would help in anyway possible. I met Jerry, Dr Lambert's nurse for the first time when my dad had surgery, but met her again at the support group meeting, and thought she was wonderful as well. Both the doctor and his staff emphasize that this surgery is a lifetime change, and that they will be there every step of the way, both pre-op and post-op. They have a wonderful aftercare program, for both healthy eating and support groups.

Dr Lambert did address all the issues that surgery was not easy, and that there is always risks involved, but he also helped to comfort that with the feeling they do 110% 24/7.

My 1st impression of Dr. Lambert is that he knows his stuff & is very understanding of the obese patients needs. He did not make anyone feel inferior & every question asked was addressed & answered.
His office staff was very courteous & I was impressed w/his office furniture, I could actually fit in the waiting room chair comfortably. Betty, his office nurse is very helpful w/ins info & what needs to be done in the interum of waiting for ins approval.
Dr. Lambert spent ALOT of time emphasizing the aftercare program. He has several post-op appts required for every patient for the 1st year, 18 months, then annually thereafter for the rest of your life. He will do bloodwork at every appt to check your levels because he says that the surgery is not the biggest part of your new life but the aftercare & the commitment that you make to the program & following every instruction given to you---that is what will make the difference between success & failure for you. In additon there is a monthly support group meeting w/staff & Dr. Lambert & others in different stages of the WLS journey. They even have a clothing exchange set up just w/his clients so as not to be x-tra expense on us.
Dr Lambert really expounded on the risks/benefits of surgery & was well informed. It was a comfort to me to hear that he uses the same OR room & OR team to perform all of his bariatric surgeries. He says that obese people have different needs & he wants a "well-trained" team assisting him, the same team every time. I was very impressed at hearing this. He says there is even a special floor for bariatric patients w/special equip & it is well staffed w/special nurses & aides who do nothing but take care of bariatric patients. I was so impressed!!! I would recommend Dr. Lambert to everyone in the Batesville or Southern Missouri area as your surgeon of choice.

Dr. Lambert is a very fine surgeon and I would recommend him to anyone. He is caring and very meticulous in his surgical skills. His staff is very concerned with his patient's welfare and keep in touch while they are in the hospital and after discharge. They call daily to make sure everything is going as planned in the immediate postop period.
I think surgical competence and the trust you feel toward the surgeon is most important. But, their concern and bedside manner is also important. When you decide to have the surgery, you have to have total confidence in the surgeon to feel everything will be alright.
We have monthly "group meetings" which he leads. He is always there to answer any questions postop and preop patients may have concerning anything. This also helps all his patients. He recommends the patient continue in this aftercare program and I have to say, it is great. We all talk about anything, laugh and have a good time.
I would recommend him to anyone considering the surgery. I am proud I had it and have never felt better in my life!!
