John Romanelli Bariatric Surgeon M.D., F.A.C.S.

I've had one appointment with him so far- LOVE HIM! Made me feel so comfortable. rnHe is SO personable- rnLOVE his staff, too. Very happy so farrnrnHad surgery 10/29/07rnLOVE HIM! Dr. Romanelli is fantastic. Surgery went really well- follow up appointments have been great. One thing- he is a very busy man! He has always run late for appointments..but it is because emergencies come up- and honestly, he is worth the wait!

Please note, Dr. Romanelli has relocated from NJ to Springfield Mass.rnrnI really liked Dr. Romanelli's style. I first met with him in a group forum to discuss the risks. He wants to ensure everyone having the procedure understands there are risk and significant ones. He reinforces this over and over. rnrnMy impression hasn't changed about him. I really like his bed side manner and his style. I also did my homework ahead of time and was able to ask educated questions which really impressed him. I didn't want to jump into something that I would regret later on.rnrnHis staff are very laid-back I haven't had any issues.rnrnI would rate him a 10.rnrn

DR Romanelli was awesome from the word hello...hes funny yet very informative and helpful....hes answered everything i have asked even if i didnt like the answers...i would suggest him to anyone that was looking for a young energetic knowledgeable doctor. Jay Kuhn is also going to be assisting Romanelli with my surgery and he was just as wonderful when i met and spoke to him.

I first had Dr. Kuhn as my surgeon, but Dr. John Romanelli has joined the staff at Baystate Surgical Associates and will be performing my procedure. Dr. Romanelli is personable and spent plenty of time with me discussing the procedure, risks, and what I should expect. I took an immediate liking to the guy, and from what else I have read about him, it seems that I am in good hands.

I found that Dr Romanelli was a great physician. He had a wonderful way at making you feel comfortable and well informed about the surgery. Even though you had to go through a whole process before you even had an appointment with him and that was not covered by inusrance it was well worth it. His staff was ok but I wan't all that impressed but they weren't the one who was actually going to perform surgery so it was easy to put up with it. They only thing that I did not like was that when I was ready to be released from the hospital he had the residents change the dressing and take out the tube. they were not very experinced in this and woulf have preferred that he did this himself but I guess that is how they are to learn. He is very big on after care but I was not able to see him much after surgery since I had to move to another state. I did have a complication from the surgery and he was not in town but his associate handled the problem with care and called him on vacation and advised him. He did come back a few days early so that he could check up on me. The complication that I had was a gastric ulcer. According to the doctor the staple puncuted a hole in my stomach and an ulcer formed around it. They handled my care wonderfully. I would recommend him to anyone that is seeking gastric bypass.

After meeting with several surgeons in the NJ area - I felt the most confident and safe with Doctor John Romanelli. He's very compassionate, informative, and doesn't sugar coat the truth. He has never beat around the bush with me, but has always let me take as much time as I needed to voice questions and concerns. He's honestly the sweetest man I've ever encountered, and am so lucky to have had surgery with him.
