John Marsden Bariatric Surgeon M.D.
My first impression of Dr Marsden was that he was very witty. After sitting and talking with him, I learned that he was very knowledgeable and caring. His office staff are two very nice ladies, that give me pens(LOL). There wasn't anything that I liked least about Dr. Marsden, I liked him from the start. He is a very caring and concerned doctor. He lets you see the actual lapband and touch it, he explains very thorough, about aftercare and living with the lapband. He explained all risks and maybe somethings that I would go through. I rate him a 10+++++, he is wonderful and I am glad he was my surgeon. I cannot say which was better with Dr. Marsden because all of his areas were terrific. So both his bedside manner and surgical competence were great.
My first impression of Dr. Marsden was that he was down to earth. He made you feel comfortable around him and he cracked jokes. I liked him from the minute I met him and knew he was the one that I wanted to perform my lapband. His staff is very friendly and helpful. I would recommend Dr. Marsden to anyone who is thinking about having surgery. He is a great doctor.
Currently working on scheduling a consultation with him. I met him at a conference on Saturday and he seemed really nice.rnrnHad a consulation and surgery is scheduled. He is very personal and willingly to answer all your questions, plus some. I found him easy to talk to and he seems to be a caring doctor. None of the in and out kind of treatment - he talked to me for at least an hour.
Very, very, very nice guy. Down to earth. Very comfortable to be around. He knows what he is doing. He has a lot of experience under his belt. My first impression of him was good. It's because he is so friendly. I went and watched one of his seminars. When I went for my pre-op appointment, he remembered me. I think that is great. His staff is amazing. I barely had to do anything. They took care of things so well. Anytime I had questions, they had no problem answering them. He is so good about explaining everything to you and answering your questions. He even provided plenty of other ways of obtaining information on the procedure and the aftercare. So far I give him a 9.5 on a 10 scale. We'll see how he is after my surgery and so on.
Dr. Mardsden was wonderful. During the surgery, a great deal of scar tissue was discovered. He removed it so my band would properly fit. Normally the surgery is 30 minutes, mine took 2 hours.rnrnMy first impression of him was one of honesty and trust. My impression over time has not changed. His office staff is competent and very nice. The least thing I like about him is I haven't really had much time with him. He highly emphasizes after care. He addressed the risks of surgery a great deal. It almost seemed like he was trying to dissuade me. He wasn't ... but he wanted to make sure I know the journey I was about to embark. Both surigical competence and bedside manner are great. One without the other is pointless and Dr. Mardsden has both.rnrnOver all, I'd rate him a fabulously wonderful doc!
My first impression of Dr. Marsden, was that he just says it like it is. I have to say he seems very knowledgeable and well researched, but maybe a tad disorganized on paper. His office staff has been outstanding, so kind and helpful. I personally think he is in a transitional phase of developing an aftercare that he is completely content with, just got that impression from a conversation. I do have to say, everytime we had to call after hours, he called back quite quickly.
He addressed all the risks, and what to expect for the most part. Maybe more information of some of the little details would have been helpful, but I really think he is very cometent and has a very nice bedside manner. At this point (less than one week out), I would recommend him hands down.
