My first impression of Dr. Price was great. He is very friendly and willing to listen. His staff, Carla and Sandy, are top notch. Everyone is very concerned about you and your progress. As far as I am concerned, he is one of the best surgeons around. Aftercare is very important to this program too. There are monthly support group which you are encouraged to go. I find these support groups very helpful. At your follow-up appointments, you see the doctor, nurse, dietician, and the exercise physiologist. The consent session was great because it describes all possible complications, not just a general surgery consent. Both his surgical competence and bedside manner is outstanding. I am lucky to have Dr. Price and his team as my physician group. I just cannot say enough about him, Sandy, and especially Carla.
I found Dr. Price to be very personable and professional. My husband and I both felt immediately that he was passionate about bariatric surgery. Specifically, that his job was surgically provide a tool and the work was truly up to the patient to \"work the tool\" to be successful. The accountability is on the patient. It is not a \"magical cure\". Very confident, but at the same time approachable. rnrnI actually had heard his community talk twice and a presentation to the hospital medical staff before having my first appointment with him. I am a RN that works in clinical research therefore I came with numerous questions; he willingly answered all questions that we had at the initial appointment, then again at the pre-op visit. The hospital that I work for actually recruited Dr. Price to initiate a Surgical Weight Loss Program. One of the specific reasons for starting the program was for the number of staff and family members that would benefit. Dr. Price’s office manager and nurse clinician moved from Louisiana to Kansas City, MO too. rnrnDr. Price has a specific consent that is separate from the hospital surgical consent that makes sure that you are understand that you will need to:rn• Take Bariatric Vitamins for the rest of your lifern• 25% of daily Protein will need to come from Supplements Post-oprn• Requirements for follow-up visits and lab workrn• That I have received written instructions of post-op lifestyle, dietary changesrn• Monthly attendance to support group meetings is strongly encouraged.rnrnIn general, as far as my pre-op experience has been, I would highly recommend Dr. John Price M.D.rn10/12/07rnNow 2 weeks post op and doing great!! surgery went very well and my recovery was much better than anticipated. I have been walking more than 2 miles a day since 6 days post -op. Had my 2 week post-op visit and all is well. Would highly recommend ths program.
Dr. Price is a very competent surgeon. He has always been friendly and has the time to speak with you. He has remained the same throughout my pre- and post- surgery visits. Dr. Price has a structured aftercare program, with lots of emphasis on nutrition and physical activities. I am 13 weeks out and have had no problems - only positive outcome. I would recommend him to anyone interested.
Dr. Price is a wonderful Dr. he understands the importance of obesity. Dr. Price has good bedside manners. He is concerned about the individual as well as the family. Dr. Price is heaven sent, he is a wonder Dr. that loves what he is doing. I would like Kansas City to know that they have the best, Dr. John Price, my surgeon.
Dr. Price is very competent and has a great bedside manner. His office is very knowledgeable and helpful. He has a great aftercare program and strongly suggests keeping your follow-ups. He staffs a dietician, an exercise physiologist, and a psycologist. They also have monthly meetings with special guest speakers. One of his staff has had WLS and she is very happy to answer any questions you may have. I was very pleased with my choice of Dr. and with my surgery overall. I have had no complications. Thank you Dr. Price and staff for a job WELL DONE!!!
My surgeon is Dr John Price in Monroe, LA. I first spoke with his bariatric coordinator, Sandy Riles, and she took care of everything. Debbie helped alot with the insurance part. I attended a support group meeting which was awesome. I got to meet Dr Price and talk with him personally. I got to see others who were on the other side. I met the nutritionist and exercise physiologist. They all stressed on after care. I think this is a very comprehensive program that I feel good recommending to others. Good Luck!
Dr. Price, seems to be a very pleasant man. He is very informative and truly wants to make sure that you understand every aspect of this surgery. I haven't met him but one time so far...so I'll have to let you know if my impression changes over time.
The staff, oh my goodness!!! From the beginning they all just seem like part of my family. They all just make you feel so at home and at ease. Any future patients should know that, as far as I'm concerned..Dr. Price is the man!!! They seem to really push the aftercare or followup appointments. Haven't had one yet but I'll let you know later how that goes. I can't really answer all the other questions at this time but will be happy to attempt answers to them at a later time. Mean time...please keep me and the Drs. in your prayers.
I was very comfortable with Dr Price from the second I met him. He was so easy to talk to ...answered any questions I had and explained everything so smoothly. His office staff was so inviting and helpful and soooooo supportive even before I had the surgery. They explained all the risks and benefits of the surgery....but we all know that most of the time the benefits greatly outweigh the risks!!!! I would definitely recommend the surgery and Dr Price to anyone interested.
Thank you so much for the wonderful care I am continuing to receive.
