I loved Dr. Alexander he was very informative and to the point. I did have to wait over 2 hours but he was at the hospital attending to one of his patients and he seemed very caring. His office staff seemed nice I really did'nt have that much interaction with them. there was realy nothing that I did not like about him and we really did not touch on aftercare that much. I am not sure if he has an aftercare program. He told me about the risks of the surgery, but he also told me that he has not EVER had a death in his practice. I would rate him a 10. He seems to care about people who are overweight but I would take a better surgeon over bedside manner anytime.

I haven't actually met him yet but his office staf was very nice to me on the phone. I have not heard any negative comments about him. But I will keep you posted.

DR AQLEXANDER DID MY WIFE RNY SURGERY IN FEBRUARY OF THIS YEAR AND SHE HAS DONE VERY WELL. I LIKED HIM FROM THE BEGINING AND APPRECIATE HIS EASY GOING ATTITUDE AND CONFIDENCE. HIS STAFF IS VERY FRIENDLY AND HIS SUPPORT GROUP IS REALLY NICE. WE DIDN'T CARE FOR THE LONG OFFICE WAITS BUT IT IS A SMALL PRICE TO PAY FOR THE TIME HE SPENDS WITH YOU. HE ADDRESSED ALL OUR CONCERNS AND QUESTIONS. DR ALEXANDER HAS EXCELLENT KNOWLEDGE AND COMPETENCE AS A SURGEON, AND HE HAS A VERY CARING BEDSIDE MANNER. I RATE HIM VERY HIGH

My first impression of Dr. Alexander was very positive. He gave a very thorough explanation of the surgery.

My impression only improved over time. I really only saw Dr. Alexander on three occasions, the initial consultation, the endoscope, and the day of surgery.

He talked very fast, you had to make sure you paid attention or you might miss something.

I am 6 days post op and I don't know much about any aftercare program. He emphasizes follow up appointments and has you talk to deitician.

Dr. Alexander did a pretty thorough job of explaining the risks, but spent so much more time explaining the benefits.

Surgical competence is by far better than bedside manner, but when I have surgery I would much rather have a very compentent surgeon than a friend.

Dr. Alexander was a very intelligent man. He knows his job and makes you feel at ease. So far I have the same impression of Dr. Alexander as before. His staff is ok. I have been pro active and spoke with Ann alot. She is very helpful and nice. I am not sure about the other staff members. However, I have not had much contact with them. He explains the whole procedure from start to finish and touches on aftercare but I get the impression that the patient will need to be pro active in that department. Dr. Alexander does address the risks of surgery and the complications and he does explain that if you follow the guidelines afterwards that there should be minamal complications. This is something I already knew from my own research though.
I believe he is very knowledgeable in what he does and that he is confident that he can care for your needs.
My opinion is "Success is attitude" so in saying that I believe both he and I will be successful.

Dr. Alexander is the third surgeon I have seen since January. I'm hoping this one will stick. I really like Dr. A but he is a very busy doc so please be prepared to wait a while in the waiting room. Very direct doctor and shoots from the hip. I was impressed that he has had no deaths.

How would you describe his/her office staff?

I had a stress test at his office and the staff that was involved in this were wonderful. They were both young, but professional and extremely courteous.
Dr. Alexander's other office staff could learn alot from these two individuals on how to treat their patients. I want to thank them both for such marvelous treatment.

I had my first Appointment with Dr Alexander on 7/30, just 2 weeks after calling his office. I really like him! I feel totally comfortable with my choice in him. My appointment was exactly on schedule and he spent quite a bit of time with me. He got me scheduled for the first avail EGD and stress test which is this coming Monday 8/5. I am very impressed with the speed this is progressing. A downside if there is one, is that he tends to paint a very rosey picture. Didn't emphesis to many possible complications or risks. I am overall very pleased with my choice of him as my doctor. As soon as we hear from my insurance company we will be setting a date. Yea!!!!!!!!

8/6 I've had all my testing yesterday. When I got to Dr Alexander's office for my stress test, I stopped by to see Lynn about Ins. details. My file was laying open on her desk and when I mentioned it, she said she was meaning to call me to cancel my testing.(a little late at that point) She said the insurance responded saying Dr. Alexander was not in network. On my first visit I brought them all the required paperwork for my ins. co. and told her that it had to be faxed in with the surgery request. Seems she disregarded the requirements that I stressed. The paperwork I had gone through great pains to get wasn't even in my file. We went to Ann's office and she went through several stacks of papers and found it. I called the ins. co. today to see if they had gotten the fax and sure enough, they had not. Called Dr. A's office again, and they were having problems with the fax no. and had been trying since yesterday. Of course, they had never called my for assistance in getting the correct fax number. All of this was a big disappointment since I put my trust in them to be the ins. experts. Thankfully I have stayed on top of things, and the paperwork is now in the hands of a very caring person at my insurance company. I am still very concerned about the tests I had done since I did not have approval to use this Dr. yet. This could prove to be a very costly mistake to me. All of this could have been avoided if Lynn had paid attention to what I was telling her. I feel extremely confident in Dr A, but not so sure of some of his staff.

9/4 have my date of 10/4. One month left of the old me.

My appointment with Dr Alexander was July 26, 2002. I had to wait 2 hours to see him. During the initial consult I had many questions for Dr Alexander. He seem knowledgable in regard to the surgery and the side effects that I should expect. He was very personable and encourged me that the surgery was going to make me feel better and look better. I was a little skeptical when I asked about the lap procedure, it seemed as if Dr Alexander was almost trying to talk me out of doing it lap. He said that there were many more risks involved and often when the patient did choose lap he had to go back to surgery and do an open procedure to correct something that may have gone wrong. I was not comfortable with what I felt was a lack of expierence with the lap procedure so I am delaying my surgery while I look into another Dr.
