Dr. Marchesini was better than I expected. Let me tell you when you hear people on this and other boards talking about Dr. Marchesini and how great he is you need to pay attention. I honestly feel that I recieved better care at the hospital Santa Cruz in Brazil than I would have gotten here in the USA. And I have been in hospitals here before and I know first hand. The nurses were great. The hospital was CLEAN. Durval was a hoot.

He is the most amazing doctor I have ever met. He is warm and genuinely cares for his patients as if they where his family. I did quite a bit of research to find a qualified surgeon and am so pleased that I choose him. If you are considering a DS or BPD I would sincerely recommend him. You will not regret your choice : ) If you are self pay, his fees are so reasonable, that the entire trip will be less than the surgeon and hospital fees here in the states.

I was very pleased with the quality of care that I received from this man. Dr. M met me at the hotel when I arrived in Curitiba. I had access to his cell phone in case I needed to call him for any reason. The care that I received in Curitiba was the best that I have received anywhere.

Since Dr. Marchesini is in Brazil, my first impression was via an email. He responded to my initial inquiry about a week after sending it. I need a specific date for my surgery and he was able to grant it for me -- even thought it meant him having my surgery on a Saturday. When I met him face to face, it was easy to understand why his patients adore him so much. He is very kind and quickly puts you to ease about your decision for the surgery and for leaving the country to have it. He refers to all of his patients as his \"children\" and you definitely feel like he is protective of you and your care. Having the pre-op tests done in Brazil was great! The tests can be done in his office and the remainder at the hospital -- all done by professionals and quickly. The aftercare program is mostly up to the patient. You leave Brazil knowing what you should do, but have to take ownership of what you need to do. I would rate he and his staff an A overall. I have been very pleased with my surgery and all phases of recovery.

I lack the words to describe just how wonderful Dr. Marchesini is. Everything I have heard about him is absolutely true. He's very professional, but puts you at ease. Luckily I didn't have any complications during or after surgery, but while I was there a couple of patients did and he didn't hesistate to personally address their issues. Even going so far as to perform surgery on a patient who suffered complications from a vehicle accident AND not charging her for it. How many doctors do you know would do that? Dr. M is very capable, well trained, cares about his patients immensely (I saw him numerous times in the hotel checking on patients). He is at the top of his game and one of the best DS surgeons there are in the world. I feel blessed to have him as my doctor. I would give him a 10 out of 10!

I had heard so many wonderful things about Dr. Marchesini that I figured he could never live up to the hype. Well, I was wrong. I have never met a more compassionate, caring human being in my life. He is an extremely skilled and experienced surgeon, VERY concerned for and involved with his patients. He provides his home and cell phone numbers so patients can reach him 24/7; he works willingly with PCP's who will be doing the follow up care, and he gives the BEST hugs ever!!! I feel very blessed to have found him and had the privilege of being one of his patients.

My first impression of Dr.Marchesini, is very caring and very much concerned about one's health. Although I have only been communicating with him through email, he has been very quick with emailing me back with answers to all of my many questions. I can't wait to meet him, I'm sure it will surpass all of my expectations of him. I love the fact that Dr. Marchesini's website is designed for the preop patient considery bariatric surgery. There is a step by step guide will everything that you will encounter as fall as preparation is concerned. I am very impressed with his website which answers the type of questions a typical person looking into surgery would have. I look foward to adding more great things to this list once I get on the losing side in August, keep me in prayers.
