I have met Dr. Korman twice, once at the weight loss seminar where he took the time to answer all of the audiences questions--even the tough ones about death rates, he took the time to answer my special case questions. The next time I met him was during the consultation. My husband and I had waited 3 hours to see him since I had taken time off work for a late afternoon appointment. Dr. K was delayed in surgery but was so gracious and apologized for the wait. We said we would want him to take whatever time he needed if I was the one in surgery so that it was OK with us that we didn't mind the wait. His staff--Brigitte, Maria, and Helen have been great they have helped work around my work schedule as much as possible due to a new position. My surgery is in 2 weeks! I'm excited, but nervous!

I have had the most amazing transformation in my appearance, health, attitude a peace of mind since having WLS. I have had ZERO complications, and recovered in record time.

Dr Korman and his staff are fantastic, and really make you feel like family.

If I ever need any other surgery, I will request Korman even if it's something like removing a bunuion.

Dr. Korman is kind and patient, with an excellent bedside manner. His staff is hard-working, knowledgable and friendly. I was very nervous meeting everyone, and I came away with a very positive experience. I don't know how I can balance sincere praise. These were some really nice, informative, helpful people.

I was introduced to a woman who had surgery with Dr. Korman, by a mutual friend. She raved about him and the office. I called for an appointment and immediately liked the staff. They offered encouragement, advice, they knew me when I called and I felt like they were already looking out for me. This was before I even got approved.

When I met Dr. Korman, I was at first surprised at how young he looked (surely he's older than 15!) In any event, I was immediately taken by how warm and accessable he was. He was very knowledgable and when I forgot to ask certain questions at that initial appointment, he was available to answer them at a later date.

My surgery couldn't have gone more smooth. I was out of the hospital in 2 days and exercising within 4 days. Already, my scars are beginning to shrink and I have never felt better, physically, in my life.

I know I am supposed to say something negative in order to make this sound more valid, but I have nothing negative to say about him or his office. O.k., I guess I wish the support groups were more interactive instead of lectures, but when you're working with 40 plus people, that's hard to do.

Dr. Korman was out of my network and although my co-pay was higher, I am 100% happy to have paid it in order to go to Dr. Korman. He's is hands-down, one thousand percent, the best surgeon in Los Angeles. I recommend him highly, without reservation. He is not only an incredibly skilled and gifted surgeon, he is the doctor that cares! Ahhhh. Thanks so much Dr. Korman!

I never got insurance approval for surgery, so my surgeon comments ended after the first appointment.

I heard of Dr. Korman, from radio personality Bill Handel. It was Bill Handels's story of his surgery that piqued my interest in this surgery. I started investigating and I always came back to Dr. Korman.
He looks about 20 years old, and if I hadn't been prepared I would have had doubts based on his youthful appearance. Aside from that, he is very knowledgeable, and will answer all of your questions. His staff is very helpful and nice people. Helen's efficiency kept me sane through the paper process, which is getting all of the medical records from my other doctors.
You are given a manual to follow for pre and post op guidelines. Along with the manual there are pre op and post op meeting when you go over the dietary guidelines you will follow. Part of these dietary guidelines are found in two different places in the manual but need updating since they have dietary info that is very different from each other. The info that is given at the meetings is the info that must be followed.
In addition, there is a support group that meets the 3rd Saturday of every month.

From the moment I met Dr. Korman, I had been impressed. He was very willing to answer any question I had in detail, until I understood it. I felt at ease with him and am now very happy with my decision. I just love his office staff, they have all been very helpful. The one complaint I do have is regarding the Gastric bypass manual that I recieved before surgery. I just feel that the manual had contradicted, some of the things that I was told by the nutrionist and also by Bridget, in regards to the food guidelines, post op. I have just found that if I follow what I am told by Bridget, then I will be fine and also there is a support group every third saturday of the month. I feel that his surgical competence is great and bedside manner is good. One week post-op I had recieved an infection at my JP site, I wasn't too happy about that, but I was told infections just happen. Dr. Korman and Bridget helped me through that. I will be honest, the infection did hurt, but once Dr. Korman cleaned out the infection, I felt much better. I am healing well now. Thanks be to God. Overall, I would say Dr. Korman is an great choice.
