I really like Dr. Landers understanding of obesity from personal experience with his family. He feels very strongly that Obesity is a disease and he is very motivated to help people get \"cured \" of this disease. His surgical center has a terrific year long support program with both nutritional and psychological help if needed. There has already been a great deal of support and I haven't even had surgery yet.. I feel very comfortable with my choice of surgeons!

My first impression of Jeff Lander, MD with Puget Sound Surgical Center (PSSC) was a very good one. After the information seminar, he sat and talked to my husband and i for approximately 30 minutes regarding the procedure that I ended up choosing...the gastric sleeve. He compared and contrasted the gastric sleeve to the LapBand and the Gastric Bypass. I am in the health field myself and am very particular of who touches my body. I wanted to ensure he was not just \"good\" with this surgery but was \"outstanding\". He had just recently moved to the Seattle area from Ohio from a clinic that would be considered the Mayo Clinic of the Mid-West.rnrnWhen I had my first appointment with Dr. Landers, he continued to impress me because he did not rush through material or information. I came to the appointment with pen and paper with about 20 questions and he was willing to answer them all. At first, I was a little frustrated that I had to have a psych consult because I was paying everything out of my own pocket but now on the other side of surgery, I fully understand the importance of why they would not want to perform surgery on someone the psycologist did not deem appropriate.rnrnPSSC has a fantastic aftercare program. Your follow up care with the dietitian and the physician is covered for 1 year from the date of surgery. They provide and support the after care groups. I currently do not attend one though since I had the gastric sleeve surgery and the current groups are for the LapBand and the Bypass. Who knows, once more of these surgeries are performed out here in the Northwest, I bet there will be one.rnrnI encourage anyone who lives in Washington to have Dr. Landers do your surgery because he is willing to go the extra step and help you understand the surgery, possible complications, and the outcome.rnrnAs of this posting, I am 2 months post surgery and have lost 35 lbs. I have more energy and a renewed vision for health. Thanks Dr. Landers for helping me with that.
