No surgeon as of yet, had to start the process over again, but I am with Group Health now and they are great! They have fantastic surgeons and do all the paperwork, plus I work there so I think that makes it even better!

Best surgeon ever!!!!

First impression: Laid back and funny! Super knowledgable. Great staff, not crazy about the PA he works with, but we have only met once at my first post op, Truely I have no complaints about Dr Landers.

I met my surgeon today 9/4. He seemed to mutter a bit, and he was younger than I anticipated, but I felt comfortable that he was more than competent. The only member of his office staff that I met was his medical assistant Robin. But in an earlier orientation today, I also met the bariatric program case manager Julie Grimm, and the Accomplish Weight Mgmt program director, Wendy McKennon. I liked them all very much. Robin had also had the gastric bypass and looked great.
Aftercare was highly important to Dr. Landers and there is a program with Accomplish Weight Management for 12 months of nutritional counseling.
Dr. Landers did address the risks of the surgery and discussed that if the lap rny did not look like it would work, he could do an other procedure. I would rate Dr. Landers very highly, of course this was my first meeting. Surgical competence is much more important, at least as far as my insides are concerned! He took time to answer all my questions and explained all to me.

I met my Doc today. He was half an hour late, however he was needed at the hospital which I feel totally takes priority. If I were in the hospital, that's how I would want it! His MA was wonderful. She is 10 months out and 90 lbs. lighter from her own WLS.rnI appreciated that we have a \"back up plan\" in the event a Lap RNY isn't doable. Highly unlikely though. rnWill write more later!rnrnFebruary 23, 2009rn In the hospital I saw my Doc once, briefly, and his PA, Bill, a couple of times. Bill took care of my discharge. He is amazing. What a great team! Very warm and personable. I felt like I was important, which goes to show the level of care I received was excellent!rn I had my two week post op on 2/19. Doc was great. We reviewed labs, and my procedure, which he thought would have been a bit trickier due to scar tissue, and turned out it wasn't. I apprecite that Dr. Landers uses a level of self-disclosure as to why WLS is an important part of his practice.

2-20-09rnDr. Landers is wonderful. He's knowledgeable, fully qualified (and then some!) and he answered all of our questions patiently and thoroughly. He illustrated the differences between the surgeries he does and gave us complete data on effectiveness and risk factors of each. He is warm, professional, and passionate about his work. I feel that I am in the most capable hands that I could be in. He didn't sway me one way or another towards a particular surgery. I decided based on my goals and medical background to have a RNY and I am clear on that decision. Five Stars or MORE!!!rnIf there's anything negative after surgery I will update but right now we're golden.rnrn2-14-09rnSeeing Landers on 2-20. I look forward to hearing his surgery recommendation for me.rnMet Dr. Bock briefly at the pre-op class. Great guy with a passion for his specialty and his patients!rnrn1-30-09 rnI think I am going to meet Dr. Bock too. rnI changed it because Dr. Landers works at the same site as Dr. Bock. rnrn1-14-09rnWaiting to be scheduled with Dr. Landers for pre-op appointment.

When I first met him on 1/12/09. My first impression of him, was how cute he is! HA! rnrnAnyway he is very nice man. He shared abit of himself, his family, his family history of morbid obesity and how he used to be 50 lbs overweight himself. The first question he asked me was where am I from? (I am from Oklahoma). He said he was from Ohio. rnrnI love his nurse (more like a case manager) Julie Grimm. Yes he talked about risks of LB and RNY. rnrnI did ask about how many LB's he done, he said he did 200. He has a profile on OH but it hasn't been updated as he doesnt work where he used to work anymore. He now works for Group Health. I am glad he joined Group Health because I also work for Group Health for almost a year. I have been with Group Health for 36 years now. When my last employer dropped Group Health, I was LIVID!!!! and that added to my unhappiness at work that put my butt in gear to look for another job that provided Group Health or hoped to work for Group Health. My wish came true in April 2008!rnrnWhen I first talked to my PCP about surgery, he was very supportive and \"rolled his sleeves\" and got right to work doing paperwork. Loved that attitude! :) rnrnI will have surgery on 1/28 so I will know more about his bedside manner, etc. rnrn*Update: Had my surgery on 1/28/09. He was very nice. He was all smiles and said it was a success when i woke up in the recovery room!

He was a great surgeon. He explained everything and put me at ease. I am very sad to see him leave the practice he is currently at, but understand when better offers come about you have to take them. rnrnThe office staff at Puget Sound Surgical Center is amazing. I got really dehydrated and they just took me right in and helped me and just made me feel so comfortable.

My first impression of him was that he knew what he was talking about! He was very confident and a little reserved. I also didn't feel judged. Puget Sound Surgical Center is the best place the staff is AMAZING!!! They are very helpful and cheerful, they keep you informed while in waiting area and talk with you by name. At my last appointment rather than yell out my name over the room my surgeon came out to me and greeted me, these are the little things that make the big difference.rnrnThe emphasis on aftercare is huge it is so important that we do it right. I could lose this weight on a very restricted diet but the minute I got off it would be back this is just the beginning. rnrnHe definately let me know the risks involved with surgery which I must say created some fear for me but it would be much worse to not know and have something happen. rnrnHow would I rate him? HE ROCKS :)rnIt is two weeks after surgery and I feel great.rnI would say if I had to choose between surgical competence and bedside manner I would have to pick the competence so.....rn.......how lucky am I that I didn't have to pick!rnrnIf your looking for the right Sergeon look no further. rnThis is my personal opinion on my own experience thus far.
