Dr. Friedman and his staff are great! Very easy to work with. I've had GREAT success with my surgery, and I believe that the way they helped prepare me for success has made a big impact on how well I'm doing now.

Office staff is great, responsive, friendly. Nurse is great too!
He is very confident and although he is quick, he isn't rushing you. He is happy to answer questions until you feel comfortable that everything is understood.

BASED ON MY RESEARCH I FELT THAT DR.FRIEDMAN WAS THE SURGEON I WANTED FOR MY WLS. SO I CALLED HIS OFFICE. BETTY,HIS OFFICE MANAGER, WAS GREAT-ANSWERING AND ASKING QUESTIONS IN AN UPBEAT MANNER. AT THE MEET THE DOC SEMINAR, I WAS VERY IMPRESSED WITH DR.FRIEDMAN AND HIS NURSE MANAGER AMANDA. DR.FRIEDMAN EXPLAINED EVERY ASPECT OF THE JOURNEY. HE ANSWERED QUESTIONS WITH CONFIDENCE. YOU COULD TELL HE IS PASSIONATE ABOUT HIS JOB.
DR.FRIEDMAN ATTENDS EVERY SUPPORT GROUP TO ANSWER ANY QUESTIONS THE GROUP MAY HAVE. DR.FRIEDMAN IS ALWAYS FRIENDLY AND SUPPORTIVE BUT HE DOES NOT SUGAR COAT ANYTHING. AT MY INTIAL APPOINTMENT WITH DR.FRIEDMAN,HE EXPAINED THE SURGERY-LISTED ALL PROS AND CONS-RISKS, AND WHAT WOULD BE REQUIRED OF ME PREOP AND POSTOP. HE WAS ATTENTIVE TO MYSELF AND MY HUBSAND,MAKING SURE WE UNDERSTOOD EVERY STEP OF THE PROCESS.
WHILE IN THE HOSPITAL DR.FRIEDMAN WAS INFORMATIVE AND CARING TO ME AND MY FAMILY. HE CHECKED ON ME TWICE A DAY. HE HAS A GREAT SENSE OF HUMOR AND EXCELLANT BEDSIDE MANNER. I HAVE HAD ZEOR COMLICATIONS. THE BARIATRIC WARD STAFF WAS AWESOME. ALL MY NEEDS WERE MET--SOMETIMES BEFORE I KNEW I NEEDED ANYTHING.
DRFRIEMAN'S OFFICE STAFF IS WONDERFUL. JENNIFER WHO HAS HAD WLS WITH DRFRIEDMAN, IS A WEALTH OF INFORMATION. AMY AND BRIDGETT FOLLOW YOU PREOP AND POSTOP FOR NUTRION. LEE HANDLES THE INSURANCE AND IS ALWAYS POSTIVE AND SUPPORTIVE. THEY ALL WORK TOGETHER. WHEN YOU ENTER THE OFFICE YOU FEEL LIKE YOU ARE FAMILY. THEY HAVE GREAT PREOP CARE. THE FOLLOW UP CARE IS FOR FIVE YEARS AND IS THOROUGH, STRUCTURED,AND INFORMATIVE.
THE ONLY SURGEON I WOULD RECOMMEND IS THE ONE WITH SURGICAL COMPETENCE--DR.FRIEDMAN. THANK YOU DR.FRIEDMAN AND BAPTIST BARATIC CENTER OF EXCELLENCE FOR GIVING ME A NEW LEASE ON LIFE. VIVIAN JOY BALDWIN

I began going to the Bariatric Support Group at Baptist Hospital and that is where I became familiar with Dr. Friedman. Most of the people in the room were his former patients and I feel that what the patients say about a doctor is so much more important than any bio or google search I could have done myself. After experiencing the support group meeting, I decided to move forward with Dr. Friedman. I met with him for the first time and was really blown away at how down to Earth he was. He treated me like his friend and didn't talk down to me or try to make me feel like I was beneath him in any way. His staff is amazing as well. Jennifer, his nurse, is a former patient with a wealth of information. She has really helped me in this process as well! On the day of surgery, I was once again blown away by the caring staff at Baptist. Every single person that I encountered there, from the surgical staff, to the janitorial staff was very courteous and kind. The nursing staff there was incredible. My husband and I really bonded with Krissie and Stacy. I definitely made the right choice when I chose Dr. Friedman and Baptist Hospital. If you are considering Bariatric Surgery, look no more. You've found the right doctor and the right facility. I had RNY surgery on the 28th of Feb. and I've been nearly pain free since the day after I left the hospital. Incredible experience!

My surgeons name is Dr. Jeffrey Friedman and he was wonderful and still is. His bedside manner is great and it feels like you are his only patient because he makes you feel important. He takes the time to talk and discuss any concerns you may have. He is caring and gentle and makes you feel at ease. The day I went into surgery I was nervous until he came in and talked to me. It put me at ease and made me feel so much better. I would definately recommend him to anyone and everyone thinking of having this surgery.

Hi, my name is V.C. Bryan my Doc is the best. My surgery was RNY gastric bypass, my surgery date was May 24,2010. Let start with a little background infomation my weight was 308 at time of surgery, I have been as much as 375 but I have been between 300 and 325 the last 2 years. I had high blood pressure and was taking 3 meds, I had diabetes so bad that I was taking 90 units of humalog insulin per day and 90 units of lantus per night. My blood sugar levels were between 350 and 500 everyday, so as you can see I was dying a slow death. Well here is the good news, it is now Sept.8,2010, 108 days (16 weeks) and I weigh 241 lbs. 67 lbs. loss. But the best part is my blood pressure is back to 128/74 with no!!! meds. and my plood sugar is 104!!! with no insulin, NONE!! It took 3 to 4 weeks to get off the meds. but it happened. Now I sleep better than I have in years and I feel like I will live to see my kids grow up. My goal is to be 210 lbs. and with help from my family and Dr. Friedman I know I will make it. Now lets rate the Doc on a scale of 1 to 10. A 15+

I lucked out! Dr. Friedman is awesome! At the first meeting with him, he took the time to listen to my concerns and answer all questions my husband and I had for him. Each successive time I saw him, he continued to impress me with his patience and thoroughness. And this continued through the post-surgery follow-up (my most recent visit). His staff is the same way. Unlike some staffs where you may feel treated like a number and impersonally herded away, every staff member of Dr. Friedman's (including the OR team) is warm, personable and makes you feel as if they really do care. THAT leaves you with a CAN-DO attitude and makes you want to work all the harder to succeed.
To that end, I also cannot say enough good about the monthly support group meetings that he and his team hold. There is more laughter and information shared at these and you always come away feeling energized. It's a time to see and meet those people who have been in your shoes and how they handle the inevitable issues that pop up from time to time. This is my personal opinion from my experiences, and I have nothing negative to say. But, don't just take my word for it...go see him and judge for yourself so you can make your own decisions. I am 63 years young and, at this writing (one month since my surgery), I feel GREAT and the weight is coming off! I could not be happier. Thanks, Doc!! :-)

Well, I just re-read what I wrote one-month post-op and I sure was the upbeat person, wasn't I?! But, you know what? I STILL couldn't be happier. Well, perhaps there are one or two small things I would change if I could, so let's address them. A lot of alumni complain of being irregular - of being constipated all the time. Not me, no sirreee! My system cleans out daily! Yeah!! Well, that is true as far as it goes. But the reality is that I need to be careful in the mornings not to be too far from a bathroom (its location is the first thing I check when out shopping in a store!). My bowels are seldom fully-formed and almost always explosive. (Sorry for the graphics - but, you need to know you are not alone if this is also happening to you!) Usually by noon, all is well and I can do whatever I want. But, that has developed as the price I pay for my new body. Was it worth it? Absolutely. I am still losing (approximately 70 pounds to date) and have dropped four dress sizes.

All I can say is that Dr. Friedman and his staff are the greatest!! His confidence made me feel better about going through with the surgery(RnY). I wanted the lap band at first, but after I went to "Meet the Doctor" seminar I changed my mind and decided to do the RnY. I had surgery in May 2010 and have already lost 50 pounds. I feel great!!! The staff at Dr. Friedman's office are always so nice and they work hard to educate you on aftercare. If I had to do it all over again I definitely would!!

Dr. Jeffrey Friedman is exceptional.

I am an RN and was in search of a surgeon for my sister, who is a retired RN with many underlying medical issues to be considered.

After investigating surgeons and facilities in the North West Florida area, Dr. Friedman and his staff stood out.

Dr. Friedman was very thorough with the pre-screening, explaining everything. Pre-surgery teaching was detailed and personalized. The staff at Baptist Bariatric Center are wonderful. The surgery was successful, without any complications.

Aftercare has been just as thorough. My sister now has a new lease on life thanks to Dr. Friedman and the staff at Baptist Bariatric Center.

I am going to keep this short and sweet and just say: DR. FRIEDMAN IS ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE! If you are looking for a doctor, there is NO OTHER choice :)
